250 programmers working 7 years

250 programmers working 7 years could have made the best co-op mode for skyrim that gaming has ever seen. Skyrim could have had 4 player drop-in drop-out co-op and double the amount of space to run around in. Seriously, Skyrim is friggin awesome. Why the heck didn't they make use of this other team of programmers to produce even more Skyrim? Something like that would have kicked this game into legendary status.

No. Skyrim is one province. TESO is all of Tamriel. What would I rather have? Easy. TESO.

There weren't 250 programmers working for 7 years.

And it wouldn't have made the best co-op mode for Skyrim that gaming ever seen either, Skyrim is a single player at heart, they would have to rip out everything and rewrite everything and then it wouldn't have been Skyrim as we know it.

Because I would have likely killed them if they wasted even a tiny iota of dev time on the single player franchise putting in needless Co-Op that is not what the main series is about. It is much better that an outside studio is making anything related to Multiplayer for this franchise.

Wasting? They'll probably come out of this with profits in hand. If that happens ---> no time wasted.

Says the guy who has virtually zero evidence except assumption that it is an Everquest/any other MMO clone? And yeah, a separate studio that does not affect the main series development 'wasting' 7 years on making what looks like a promising MMO is fine by me. Dunno if you can call it wasting since they will likely make their money back at the very least.

At least it is an outside studio working on it, rather than Bethesda. That way when it flops, it wont affect the real TES games.

3rd person combat
Press A to start autoattack
Hotbar combat
Cooldown timers
End game is comprised of raiding to get better gear.
Preset class builds - no customization

Yup, sounds new and fresh to me.

"Wanna play co-op?"
"Sure, who gets to be the last Dragonborn?"
"Well, both of us."
"???????????"

Easy, it's just like Saints Row the Third. The host is player 1 or "Dragonborn". The guy connecting into your world is just your very well armed friend.

Where did you hear about autoattacking, cd timers or end-game raiding? None of that was mentioned in the GI article (the only existing preview).

As noted, ZeniMax Online is a different studio. They've been working on things for about five years, but there work has no impact on Bethesda Game Studios' projects past, present, and future projects (Fallout 3, Skyrim, Dawnguard).
