Backstabbing Questions (Sneak attacks)

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 7:52 pm

I am going to be using two daggers + alchemy, just have a few questions

1) If you dual wield daggers do you get two backstabs?

2) Do daggers naturally do more damage for backstabs? If so is it confirmed how much?

3) Before you get "assassin's blade" would it be better to just use Long Swords for dual wielding? There's no additional bonuses to using daggers until then? This is only if #1 and #2 do not apply.

4) Also if #1 does not apply...wouldn't using one dagger in mainhand and a stronger weapon in your offhand be best?

Thanks!

1. I thought backstabing someone would make you no longer count as undetected to that person, preventing a second backstab with another dagger?
3. IIRC there is a penalty to sneaking based upon length of equipped weapon. No idea what that means in the context of dual wielding.

May I ask WHERE you heard you get double sneak attacks? The animation I saw in the previews did show a thief using a dagger for a sneak kill. The animation does not show the use of two.

I am also betting if you meet or exceed the creature's health (in the case of humanoid) it plays that 3rd person cinemation for the kill. I am not seeing a double attack here.

Last game, and last I heard, you don't get to sneak things multiple times before they detect they are under attack, unless you do it from range, or go invisible on strike.

He was probably referring to a double strike, as in, a power attack using both daggers at once. That's in the game, as there is a perk that specifically boosts dual-wield power attack damage. It stands to reason that thrusting both daggers in your opponent at the same time would do more damage than just one dagger.
