Time played save file size and performance issues

I know there are topics already about this, but the issue needs to have a loud voice and addressed. 3 GAMES NOW - Bethesda has had this problem with the amount of time played / save size starts to effect the performance of the game horribly. It truly is sad that it has found its way into this game as well after everything they told us (new engine, developed seperately, etc...)

Ive been playing about 38 hours now and my save file is ~6mb, and I have all auto save options turned off. The issue isn't gamebreaking quite yet, but I can see it getting progressively worse. At around 5mb heavily populated areas would have slight stuttering here and there (as if it was trying to load) - out in the open it was still pretty flawless. Now at 6mb those highly populated areas will have 1-2 second lock ups ( again loading?) and out in the open will have slight stuttering. There is this one specific area in whiterun that will just lock up for a good 3-4 seconds every single time I run through it. I load up my other character with hardly any time put into it and that same spot, as well as the game in general will run flawlessly again.

I know its going to get worse, and it is really disheartening. Aside from the issues it comes with I would have to say Skyrim is by far my favorite from Bethesda, easily. I remember with Fallout i got to about 100 hours with ~15mb(?) save and I couldn't even run around anymore... This same exact path is presenting itself with Skyrim.

I really hope they will fix this problem this time around, i really do. I'm afraid I can no longer enjoy or buy any bethesda games from here on out if they cant get their act together.

Skyrim’s PS3 game save file problems after 6MB – Game breaking or not?

Well, would you believe it? After informing you about major texture issues with the Xbox 360 version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim depending on whether the game was installed to the HDD or not, it has now been confirmed that the PS3 version has been deemed ‘unplayable’ due to a new problem.

This problem is arguably more serious than the texture issues as well, as multiple sources combined with thousands of PS3 owners are complaining that the game becomes unplayable as a gradual process, when the PS3 game save file passes the 6MB mark.

When this moment occurs, PS3 gamers have noticed considerable lag, framerate and also screen tearing issues which obviously is a major sign of frustration during random fight scenes throughout the game.

As you can imagine, such uproar has prompted Bethesda to react, and the only information they are giving out, is that it will be fixed up by the time their patch update hits all platforms. Here’s a heated exchange between one PS3 user and Bethesda head Pete Hines:

”PunchintheFace – @dcdeacon @elderscrolls @bethblog When do we hear about the QA team being fired for this ps3 disaster? #launchabrokengame #skyrim #bethesda

DCDeacon Pete Hines
@PunchintheFace We’ve said repeatedly we are working on an update to fix issues for any/all platforms. That’s all I can tell you right now.”

Another alternative that Bethesda has recommended to those that are having problems with Skyrim, is to fill out an e-form on their support website. As you can see above though, fans have preferred to bomb Hine’s Twitter account with complaints instead in hope of a quick fix.

Sounds like you're writing a news story haha, if that is the case - post it EVERYWHERE let this issue (that spans 3 games now) be heard!
