Summoning Rituals and Metal Recycling

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 1:00 am

These are two things I'd love to see either as a mod, or as part of a DLC if the devs are watching.

Summoning rituals would allow you to summon a permanent or semi-permanent creature, that would hang around until it dies, or at least until you sleep or fast travel in the case of semi-permanency. It would require a summoning circle.. (we've seen plenty of conjurers using them in the wild!) and several soul gems and perhaps other materials, such as fire salts for a flame Antroch (sp) Then you'd simply cast the appropriate spell at the center of the circle to summon your new buddy!

Metal Recycling is almost self-explanitory, if we can turn bits of Dwemer junk into dwarven metal then why can't I melt down the 14 iron daggers I found in that dungeon into some usable metal? Also.. we ought to be able to use Corundum ingots to make Steel and such instead of just the ore.

You can already summon permanent zombies (until they die then you recast). Atronachs need this too though :<

Metal recycling can make smithing even easier to level. Create dagger, break down, create dagger, break down etc.

That is a balancing issue which is obvious, should be 2 daggers make 1 ingot 1 ingot makes 1 dagger. problem solve ? (also you didnt take the leather materials in to account)

Really? Which spell is that, the "Raise Zombie" just lasts for a while then they become an ash pile...

There are permanent summons. They're called Thralls. All of them are Master level. The atronachs on top of being master level, also require finishing a quest chain for the conjuration specialist.

The "Thrall" spells act as permanant conjures, theres one for each atronach and one that raises a corpse, but only works on people.

Dead Thrall
Frost Thrall
Flame Thrall
Shock Thrall.

It still makes smithing even easier to level that it already is (and it's already very easy to level). Leather? You can have leather strips by the hundreds by just spending some time hunting and dungeon diving.

I'd like to use charcoal with iron to make steel, not aluminium oxide. That makes no sense whatsoever, it's like using wood to make something out of stone.
