So my video cards are a bit outdated but apperently thats the way to go. I had the 9800gx2 as my main card with a 8800gtx dedicated as physx and the game had all the texture issue's everyone else is complaining about. I switched them so the 8800GTX would run as my primary card and now the game runs perfect... I did a little more just out of curiosity, the 8800GTS 640, 8800GT and the 9800GT cards all ran fine as well but I couldn't get them to 1920x1080 like I could with the 8800gtx. Dust off those old single gpu cards if you got them!

Ummm, no. And most people have gotten rid of their 9800GT cards along with their AGP motherboards, lol!

AGP was phased out with the 6800XT cards actually, but whatever...

hi Ruffcut, thanks for your post. because of your post i bought the game and hoped that it would run fine on my system. i have a 8800gtx graphics card aswell.
unfortunately the performance is pretty poor and i'm experiencing the ugly texture pop in as many others too.

could you please tell me which nvidia driver you're using and which other specs your pc has? (OS, CPU, RAM etc)

I just updated my drivers to the 285 beta and am having the graphics issues everyone else is having. I was using the 270 drivers without any major problems. What also might be helping me is I still use a Sony Trinitron CRT that gives me 1920x1080 res w/120hz refresh rate. I did read that monitors with higher resolutions do aid in performance for Rage. The dedicated physx card could be helping me also, Just make sure SLI is disabled!

how could a crt do 1920x1080... ? i havent seen a crt that has a ratio of 16x9/16x10

"sony gdm-fw900 trinitron" is a 24" CRT from 2001 that retailed for $2300.00 US. I didn't pay that much for mine ofcource, I actually went to a gov. auction back in 2006 and picked up 2 of them for $25.00 each. I think they may have been the last of the best HD CRT's ever made 10yrs ago...

the only reason the game runs fine with ur 8800gtx and like crap with ur 9800gx2 is because with your GX2 you cannot disable SLI, its built into the card, let me say this again because ive said it about 300 times already

THE GAME DOES NOT SUPPORT SLI!!! I HAVE 3x GTX470's AND IF I ENABLE ALL 3 THE GAME RUNS at 10FPS!! IF I DISABLE SLI IT WORKS FINE!!

Hence "Single GPU" This post has been up several days... The 280 drivers and the beta 285 drivers also cause issue's for some reason... Chill out buddy we get it...

sorry didnt mean to blow up, its just kinda sad people are like "oh im not buying id software games anymore" or "this game is horrible" because its really not, i mean pretty much all very anticipated titles with new more sophistacted engines go bad somewhere on launch day, some not as worse as others but why would someone say im never buying from this company again, when the game isnt working right, AND the people who developed the game are hard at work trying to fix the problem? i can see if bethesda and id said, we dont care u paid for it now go pound sand, but the poor guys have probably been stressing and working extra hours to fix these problems? anyway sorry about that

i think the reason for my performance problem could be that i use a dualcore cpu. i heard the game needs a quadcore to run smoothly. however i don't know what causes the texture popin. that's really ugly for a 2011 game.
i hope the patch will fix our problems.
