"The horns on this helmet were taken from a minotaur&#34

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 3:00 am

Anyone remember the video/interview where Todd said that the horns on the "Dovahkiin Helmet" would have to be taken from a minotaur in order for you to make the helmet? Well, not only did that turn out to not be true but it also seems minotaurs are not in the game.

Good job Todd Molyneux, why feel the need to make something up when the actual system in place doesn't make it any worse?

is it truly necessary for you to be picking on something like that?

I understand that it might have been in there at one point, but all these little gripes: persistent snow, minataur horns, etc. it all seems superfluous to the actual experience and pointing out its absence only serves to act as an arbitrary complaint.

seriously, Beth has enough trouble dealing with the real bugs/design flaws players are pointing, they don't need people going down their throats for petty details.

and Tdd Molyneaux? Now that's just mean to both Peter Molyneaux and Todd Howard. :P

When did he say this? I've never heard it or anything about minotaurs in this game.

I don't care that it's not in the game, just seems deceptive that he says it's in then doesn't mention later that it's been taken out.

It's almost like they make small system so they can say it's in the game and then take it out, that way nobody can accuse them of lying.

It was never there; do you really think they just decided to delete all Minotaurs at some point?

And I don't think Peter Molyneaux is capable of caring, since he lacks a soul and all.

"Todd said some minor aesthetic feature was in the game and it isn't, I'm going to nerd rage!"

Get over it, the game does 95% of what it promised. More than Peter Molyneux can attest to.

and I don't know if it's hipster irony or ignorance, but I like how the OP spelled Alduin with two "i"s in his name and Dovahkiin with one in his signature.

It seems deceptive because you're being a drama queen. Guess what, video games are created by people with insane levels of passion and they constantly have millions of ideas that never make it into the final game, and they love to talk about it. Get off your high horse and stop getting offended by reality.

I apologize, I was thinking more in terms of the horns themselves, not the presence of Minotaurs in the game. I know beth would not have removed such a huge enemy type if it has been in there before.

and furthermore, I think this hatred of Molyneaux is uncalled for.

yes, we get it, he overhyped Fable like hell. I know, but to say he's a soulless, arrogant jerk is wholely incorrect.
From what I've seen Molyneaux has proven to be a relatively humble, ambitious game designer. His words do not carry with them some vain sense of superiority, but rather naive optomism on what he thinks he can achieve.

When he failed to do he DID admit his mistake. And he has taken full blame for the short-comings of all Fable Games.

he may havce issues with advertising, but I would never go so far as to call him arrogant, soulless or vain.

Imported goods from Cyrodil. Be be careful of fake minotaur horns !

Real minotaurs are a protected species now anyway because the orsimers hunted them almost to extinction. It seems they believe that their horns, reduced to powder, is a powerful sixual stimulant.
