Doesn't "Load Loose Files"

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:43 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue that I couldn't find anyone bring up.

I was able to get the data files option to be not grayed out by editing the .ini file, but now whenever I click to load loose files, the option becomes deslected every time I open Data Files again, and none of the new textures I downloaded are showing up. They are in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data and should be working properly.

Anyone else have this issue or a solution?

Thanks

That check box was only ever meant to be a temporary use per play session. The developers never intended it to be full time use. You need to wait till Archive Invalidation is created.

Can't you implement it like in OB/FO with the dummy BSA?

In theory, it should work the same, however I am don't know how to go about that, so I differ to someone more knowledgeable.

Open skyrimsprefs.ini and "bEnableFileSelection=1" (without quotes) under [Launcher].

They should be in Data\Textures, specifically. I cant speak for textures, but interface files dont need any clever hacks to work. Files in the Interface folder just take precedence over files in the Interface.bsa

I think youre obsessing over that checkbox too much.

Open the Data Files window, check the checkbox, close the Data Files window, do not open it again, problem solved. If the checkboxes becomes unchecked every time you open the Data Files window, simply quit opening the Data Files window.

I have the same problem, except, even when I don't reopen Data Files, my modded textures still aren't showing up in game. Any help would be very much appreciated. :D

Are you certain that they're in the correct location?
