WOW, this means a whole new take on online gaming.

Of course when I first heard this, ideas came to mind. Ideas that I think Elder Scrolls completely neglected in pervious games. The big one was "motion controlles". Exclusive content would be a big win in this way. 3D will also allow for great exclusive content. Majorly in the way puzzles work, motion controlles will allow interactive puzzles. 3D will allow for hidden areas maybe "invisible" to other players, such as rope swings, invisible platforms and maze path way to walk. Of course with trail and error most things could be accomplished, but in this way it give players individuality. Content that makes teams work together while exploring, and makes them split up to accomplish a goal.

Stealing from other players! That's hard to see through, maybe server limited or something. Like PVP and GVG in other games.

Monsters. Repetitive monsters are no good. I could see using monsters from all titles. That way I won't be fighting the same things to many times. Plus with a new game with new monsters is fun. A bestiary coud bring a lot of profit, team work and value to the game. A bestiary could give informatin about a place and monster in the place. Way to slay monsters, such as criticals and weaknesses. Also a bestiary could tell a player what monster in an area drop. Also Monster that are Elite could be fun. Monsters that are the hardest battles in the game, always give some replay. " Final Fantasy 7!"

Player roles. I like the idea that we could build in game value. Map makers, black smiths, beastmen, could all play a valuable role to other players. Map makers could make maps of places they have been, then sell maps to other players. Black smiths use skill to build, armor, weapons and other good to sell and use. Beastmen could learn monsters, what they drop and how to effectively slay them, making scrolls of this info could be sold to other players. A team with these skills could provide a ton of info. I'm thinking, a map with beast locations, weaknesses, drops and other info will help bring player value up and give them something to sell. Selling scrolls, potions, maps and other equipment in this way, will bring everybody a little closer. With a limitation to who can use these abilities would make things interesting. Say in order to effectivly accomplish/grow these skill, a player needs to use a passive. A passive could be activated like in Skyrim, when activating a shire. This will limit player ablities some, but only in a way that's beneficial. by using a map maker passive, instead of a attack passive for instence. The cost needs to be worth it. Then once a "map maker" has all the world uncovered could say he a master map maker. Of course there are other roles well known to Elder Scrolls, like enchanters and spell makers, but I won't get into all that.

PVP!!! Player that wish to start a Guild/Alliance need a hide out, place to gather, ect!.. Places like the chapel of the nine, would be great. Taking over a place like that, could bring teams together to accomplish large tasks/goals from a safehold of fort. But will need to defend these locations. Player can attempt to clam the land, be declaring war. Then the players have say 48 hours to defend in a team battle. making it fair and an alliance/guild will be aware of the take over. Then can orgenize for the battle. Making it hard to take over a occupied area. If not defended, then the Allaicne/Guild is replayed be monsters.

Building a character! I love finding items that make my character look the way I think it should. Content I am sure will be plentiful, lets see it all. I hope the leveling system will be point based, so the we don't have to spend points and remain at level 0 through out the game. In game items and leveling should be for easy mode! Remember Tetris level 0? Every 10 lines leveled the game up one level. Skills could be learnd by practice, and master with time. In the end we could level higher because of skill. Making a skilled way to play the game will be a huge replay. I am trying to say by using a skill a player could level it. Using a strong attack 100 time could = one level of that skill. Then ever 10 levels of strong attack could = 1 strength attribute point. So that would mean using magic would level that attack/spell, then add to intelligence attributes with time, and so on with DEX = crit, AGI = evasion, STR = strength, INT = intelligence, VIT = vitality, Health, Mana, DEF = defense, ATT = attack. This will grant players a hard difficulty, while keeping up with the story. Then players could collect items that fall into the the level 0 only items. But you could make it easier by allowing level ups as well.

Another idea! Respawn wards! In the other games there is checkpoints. So in a MMO buying respawn wards, allow players to setup a checkpoint, that would be neat. It would work as a save point. Make it required to ether have a respawn point, or to return to a town and sleep to save current accomplishments. When logging out, it could set a respawn point, once every 6 hours free of charge or something. Other wise they could be purchased from a NPC in almost any town.

This is a great idea, that will require a whole lot of work. If you have not played Final Fantasy games, look into 7, 10, 12 and 13 Great games, that will help the ideas flow. And Zelda games are great games to play too, try them if you got writers block! Single player games are the best, I am interested to see how this will turn out. P.S. Oblivion is your best, because it has structure. The role was to, work for the Emperor. Hmm? Open world, sandbox, MMO! I think after reading my game informer that an online game is FAIL. I would give it a chance but they have to sell me on lots of other things. Why the are they doing an online title, you put the gameinto the wrong hands, NOOO!!!! Good luck guys! Do better then the best! Ill update when ready. I will also reorganize sometime to make it easier to read.

this thread is difficult to understand and your point is muddled. probably why you haven't gotten any responses. not trying to be rude, just sayin, if there's anything you can do to sum up your point clearly and concisely i'd be happy to give feedback.

I think the point is the game has a lot of potential and the OP is excited about the possibilities. I think. I am not sure if that was the point or not. Either way, sit back and wait for more information. Game Informer is rolling out information over this whole month about The Elder Scrolls Online and I imagine we will have more answers to our questions by the end of this month.

I'm certainly keen to hear more about the RP aspects of the game; here's hoping that Game Informer's silence hitherto is more the result of them prioritizing the wrong pieces of information than that there's no information to give.

That said, many of the OP's suggestions are far too optimistic to be likely.

... Land party anyone? I think that would be the best way to help it keep a good cinematic look and feel. Besides I think most people really want to play with friends. That also bring up the DLC ideas. How to record our story, epic boss fights and watch and share it. cinematics would be the main goal there, so a host pc with good graphics and away to focus camera time on the EPIC part the fight! I also think that's the best way to go with it. Then the limitations of internet speed would not have as much of an effect on game play. More diverse and over all amount of content could individualize characters, with out being much of a problem, at least with a high speed lan setup. But then again I could get a 100 meg internet connection. still wouldn't be enough.... but in parties it maybe.

Yeah but we all know that already. That's why there is DLC, or other means necessary, to allow content to be all it can be. OP maybe but most people don't look at it like just another Elder Scrolls game. They have high expectations that it will be Elder Scrolls MMO, the best Elder Scrolls yet. I still think they need to work on game play personally. They missed a lot of things. But the potential OP is great.

I don't expect this to be the best TES ever. I wouldn't even if ZeniO was making a game I was interested in playing(i.e. one that played like a TES game). The best TES games will always be in the single player series being developed by Bethesda(which one is the best is always a fun debate). That said, IF ZeniO was making the sort of game I would play, I would have looked forward to the RP community. I would probably have played either the most arrogant jerkwad of an Altmer mage you can imagine(hint: play Skyrim and see how long you can resist slaughtering every Thalmor member you can find) or a Redguard warrior.

This game could indeed rock, it's just the question, does it want to be it's own game or does it want to be someone else's game?

Its ok, I have it but its to much like dynasty warriors. The combat is different then the other MMO for sure, and has a fun factor, but it lacks that realism or sort of control.

Never mind the Elder Scrolls Online game. When is the next real Elder Scrolls due to drop? The photorealistic one? Maybe they will let multi-player happen. I want to cry. When I read game informer it was all bad news, one thing after another. I guess if they sell me on some real i mean really really good stuff ill give it a chance. But for now, all i know they took the only thing I played Skyrim for out of, because there are to many players.

I cant believe this. They released this and it's not ever April first. Please do a small scale of what the MMO is going to be like first. Add multi player and other thing players can expect. But don't take out the many things that are already in it. Just add to it, make a small scale MMO/LAN game, then try to tackle a MMO. Grapihs should not be lower then Skyrim, but higher. People should not have no place to live. And I think the game should cover the map of Elder Scrolls. At least with a smaller scale you could kinda like beta the MMO first and work for the bigger picture. With time, and content i know you can achieve so much more.

LOL, I guess if you are looking at it with a non strict, positive outlook. I guess, I am the only one expecting the game to be at least the same, but better is better. and housing is a necessity in this game. Why else would I want to join the MMO if not to show off all I earn? Besides MMO are getting better with time, so by the time this drops, id expect nothing but a huge, great looking, fun game. On top of that I don't console, so its back to meeting demands of PC players. They have been over this befor, and know well that it's going to be like that no matter what. So why should I sell myself short? Or even play a game that I expect these things from? I could always count on FF14 2.0 then, thank you very much. :( Grow up people. We all know its possible, just not for the cost and time I guess. That is why I play Elder Scrolls, because it looks best, and taking that away is ridiculous to put it fairly. Ill stick to single player Elder Scrolls unless they were just making a inquiry on how the game will be made, then planned to adapt to the demands of PC users. I could live with that, because the fan base that plays consoles, but I am not going to be one of them, besides its time from the next gen to drop, so don't disappoint.
