This issue is going to explode over the weekend

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 2:55 am

Think about it. As of right now only aggressive/hardcoe gamers have very large save files. After this weekend a lot more casual/moderate gamers will have large saves and start to experience the lag. The issue will only get worse....

I really hope Beth is on this one.

Has Bethesda acknowledged this yet? They would be smart to say they are working on a fix now. Each day 1,000s more people experience the frame rate drops.

Yep, it's only a matter of time before the real word gets out.

They better be running like chickens with their heads cut off to fix this.

The thing is, even if they had a patch done right now this very second and submitted it it'd still be stuck in cert for days if not a week+ while Microsoft and Sony drag their feet and never catch anything major anyways. It's a huge problem with console games as the cert process is so wholly inept.

Skyrim 1.0 went through cert on both consoles and passed right? Skyrim 1.1 went through cert on both consoles and passed right? Outside of making sure that some game/patch doesn't format your HDD the process really needs to be streamlined and/or go away. (Steam's process is a far better middle-ground)

According to a post in a thread from last night, support e-mailed someone saying that the patch had already been sent in to Sony's QA team for the cert process.

I hope this is true.

Not directly, but indirectly they've lumped it with all the other issues on all platforms, quest glitches, bugs etc. This problem deserves it's own attention, and acknowledgement, this issue is far bigger than glitches and bugs, this issue renders the game 100% unplayable. Glitches that are breaking quests can be fixed, we and it appears Bethesda has no clue what this issue could be caused by.
