Mhmm I do experience texture problems (E.g obviously missing textures on object, or going close to everything and it looking like a N64 game) but no to this severity. I'm sure they will patch all of this up.

I have mine installed to HDD, low textures beats melting xbox anyday, there is a post which mentions it will be fixed so i wouldnt worry too much, low res tesxtures aint bothering me since i dont notice them really.

There are several posts pointing out that low res textures happen off the disc too, now a lot seem to believe its caused by the menu's, i have seen the same low res textures myself both off disc and HDD.

Yeah my textures look about that janky too. It's really jarring because sometimes there is a really nice texture on one side of the wall and it looks amazing, then on the next side of the wall it's super low res and muddy

yeah i don't get it tho. could it be possible to be the disc? but i don't see how because surely with a disc problem it wouldn't work at all?

I think this is how the game was meant to ship and they may or may not be able to solve it properly.

I can almost say with certainty that it's not your disc.

No that's not true because the higher res textures will "pop" into existence (so we know they are on the disk and will load under certain circumstances)
and then for whatever reason they will vanish again. Something, somewhere went wrong it's pretty obvious.

yep mine are that bad, which is why I am forcing myself not to play until it is sorted. It is really really hard, but I know it will be worth it to experience Skyrim in its full glory, and they should have solved some of the quest bugs by then too.

I'm no texture snob but I want to experience the visual art of the game properly, and now I know it is a bug, I cannot get into the game without being absolutely appalled by the textures

Ya I have some texture issues from now and again but my most outstanding one is the fact my hair shows through helms/hats/hoods. Put on the dark brotherhood hood and my hair can be seen where the hood swoops back against my neck. even with the iron helmet the enitre skull cap peice is my hair instead of metal =[

I have had this issue too (and previously posted about it also). Honestly installing to a flash pen drive did the trick for me in the most part. I get the occasional nasty texture on menu items but none as bad in the actual game as before installing to flash.
Also the clipping annoys the hell out of me but then every modern elder scrolls game has had this issue, and as this essentiallly uses an improved oblivion engine it will still clip unfortunately (and rewritten does not equal a whole new engine in my mind!)

I uninstalled it, and the hands look better, but most pillars and ALL clothing and weapons, and armor, look like poo.

I think the game looks worse than Fallout 3. It's nice to be able to blame it all on a bug, but Im not so sure. Don't get me wrong, the game can look amazing at times, but downright dreadful at others.

This is what I'm really afraid of at this point, that it's not a bug and many of the textures really are that low-res when you get close up. :sadvaultboy:
