Worst Bug?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 7:49 pm

So after starting a new game being lag free and all, doing my best to stay under 5MB save file.
Then this stupid bug happens, as of now my save file somehow jumped randomly from 3.3MB to 7,4MB and now I can't even talk to any merchant to sell and such let alone do any quests.
The problems in this game is getting ridiculous day by day, Bethesda really needs to fix all these s^#*t

My file's staying around 7800 - 8000 with me being very careful and waiting for long periods of time to bring the size down *slightly*.

I'm not doing any more quests, or anything really for that matter until this is fixed.

Yeah, I went back to and older save file and decided not to quest anymore and just get up my skills whilst waiting for the fix >.<
It was so annoying to keep tabs on our save files too >.<

I just can't imagine what's causing the files to swell like this...

I think this will be one of the main fixes in the patch, if we get one.

Im not even sure if the save file thing makes a big difference to frame rate since all my saves are at least 7mb and i have very little problem. On the other hand i cant do the main quest because of broken dialogue......

LOTS of object tracking. The game's keeping track of every object in every container in every location you've ever been to, plus NPC information, quest data, conversation trees, all kinds of crap. They probably could do a better job of optimizing some of that stuff but that's the most basic reason behind the actual size of the save file itself. I won't even begin to guess at whether that's the actual cause of the framerate issues, but I'd be willing to bet it's at least part of the cause in some cases.
