Character is stuck in the ground after a fast travelauto sav

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 1:12 am

I fast traveled from Dragon Bridge to Whiterun after fighting off two Blood Dragons at once and hiding the bones in a chest so I could tote the scales back, then return for the bones. After fast traveling I paused so I could do something, When I unpaused my character's feet were slightly in the ground. I can't move in any direction, I can twirl, and jumping hits an invisible ceiling. In trying to fix this I kinda autosaved over the save where this hadn't happened so now my character is a bit ruined :/

The details when this happened :

Wearing : Full Dwarven Armor (Exquisite) (Including the shield)
Ebony Sword
Amulet of Stendarr
Ring of the Minor Knight

Don't know if this would matter either, But I was almost done with the war effort in the stormcloak's favor.

None of the shouts do anything to dislodge my feet from the ground.

Fast Traveling to other locations still works, but my feet are still in the ground.

Does anyone have any idea on how to save the hours i've put into this? :/ Really disappointing. Loving the game so far.. Figured something this drastic might happen since it tends to with new games of this kind. (Previous Elder scrolls, and the Fallouts.)

Any ideas at all are appreciated. :( Thanks.

Things i've tried : Getting naked. Assaulting the guard next to me inside whiterun's gate, All current shouts, sneaking, jumping rabidly, throwing items on the ground in frustration, and killing the guard..also in frustration. xD reloaded those times.

That's quite alright. :P It's good to laugh. This is just so frustrating. I might make a manual save and just let this character rot til we get a fix. :S since it's ruined anyway. But still, Any ideas? At all?

Hmm, i got stuck in the ground at one point, sad to say though i got out pretty easily. since you can;t move in any direction i have no idea what you could do, i would tell you to jump like crazy and move left right back forward, thats how i got out but alas you cannot move. :l

Well I can face different directions, But jumping literally instantly smacks my head on an invisible wall. My character is reallly stuck. Trying to think of any weird fast travel landscapes that would put me below land..like water. But i'm pretty sure they avoided placing you in water anyway, or at least in most of the places i've visited so far. The problem is probably more with the character model being somewhere it should never be able to go so water might just complicate it more. /ramble

FIXED - XMB Reset the PS3 completely.

My assumption was that the save itself was screwy, but reloading the world from nothing corrected the character misplacement.

Thanks for the replies, though. Kept me thinking about it instead of just stopping. Scared to play the game now xD

They should enable a "Push" feature, that makes the game slowly push you toward the correct elevation of wherever you are at, say if your feet are stuck on the ground, sad that you have put so much time into it for this to be effecting you, i make multiple saves now to avoid such issues since their seams to be so many going around.
