REQ: "realism mod"

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 4:46 am

Has anybody talked about this? In this mod i mean, you need to sleep maybe once per two night? Eat frequently etc. Like Fallout survival mode. It would be great! Note: If you are a vampire, you don't need to eat. Also when you are in cold places like in mountains you'r health should drop bit by bit if you are not wearing furry clothes. You'd need to go inside. That is if there is a blizzard outside.

I really wanted to see something like Fallout's hardcoe mode in Skyrim, but alas, no dice. I'm so totally invested in it that I am tempted to quit playing Skyrim until something like it gets implemented. Just seems a shame that there is all that great food and wildlife out there that seems to have so little purpose.

Your ideas of vampires not needing to eat and cold weather coming into play are fantastic as well.

Looking forward to the mod kit, for sure.

Something like this would be really nice to have. Just to throw some ideas in the mix..

Hunger
Causes you to burn stamina faster, and slower recovery.
Eventually risk of fainting and in some point, death.

Cold
Unless protected by warm clothing, traveling in cold areas causes loss of stamina, and eventually loss of health.
Spend too much time in cold areas and gain a de-buff that must be removed by resting or something like that.

Inventory
Visible back bags. Characters may carry a "realistic" amount of stuff without a back bag. In example, someone might be able to carry two smaller swords, a bow and arrows. The only armor that can be carried is the one you are wearing.
Back bags would allow your character to carry more stuff, but there would be limits anyway. Back bags could be left behind for faster / stealthier movement purposes.

Need of sleep
Basically the same as hunger but without death. Passing out eventually and "forced sleep".

More damage or less health
Enemies die a lot faster. One arrow to face and it's dead. But same goes the other way - player characters have a lot less health. I understand that his would probably cause a lot of imbalances in a way that archers would kick ass even more than now.

These are a few that come to mind right now. Of course, this would need a lot of planning and testing. I do not think that technically this would be a huge project, but balancing it all out might be a nightmare.

I also understand that many of TES fans would disapprove this kind of system. I personally would welcome this kind of hardcoe / realism mod.
