just found this out, so i thought i would post it for anyone who plays the game and hates the preset controls as much as i do

you need a logitech gamepad for this

download file from second link as the first link is dead (i scanned it and its safe)

unrar, open folder and drop files into game directory

edit the INI to customise your controls (not hard to figure out)
