I have a new problem whereby I cannot use F5 to save anymore. Trying to do so just causes the game to lock up and I have to use Task Manager to end the process to get it to close. The same happens if I try to use the Esc key to bring up the menu. The game just locks up hard.

The net result is that I have to keep starting new games as automatic save points just start me off at the beginning again and I have to sit and watch that wonderful intro movie yet again. Does anybody else have this save/crash problem? I just got this today. Yesterday it was fine. Well apart from the usual massive stuttering, crashes when entering new areas, and those mysterious disappearing textures the longer you play.

I can't believe I'm right back at the beginning again. The last few days feels like I've been through a Japanese Endurance Test. Who says gaming is relaxing?

Yes +set com_skipIntroVideo 1 works for me.
You shod probably try uninstalling the game & reinstall.
That will probably fix the F5 save problem.
BTW you don't loose your last saved game by doing a clean install.
I just went threw the clean install & both auto & my F5 saves where still there.

Give your system specs so others can try & help you with your problems.

I've done a reinstall...twice. My saved games are well and truly corrupted which is why they won't load. Deleting them doesn't help as Steam puts them back again (as it should).

As for the specs, I'm as sick of listing them as I am seeing the intro movie. I'm done with this game until it's fit for the purpose. It's just not worth the grief anymore.
