There is a thread for builds on this first page alone- do try to use search. As for best "mage" ever, I saw Armsman as a perk and already disagree. Pure mage or rename it to battlemage/spellsword, because that isn't a pure mage.

Wow, you made it all the way to the bottom before you came to that conclusion? He lost me at the very first perk being for Light Armor. Lol

I didn't read any of the list because I saw the last category only had one perk- was wondering what it would be lol. Didn't even notice the top :cryvaultboy:

Get more Destruction is my suggestion. Get those last 2 perks into either Augmented Shock/Frost/Flame (2 of those,) for the extra damage. Helps you out a bunch in terms of damage dealing, since destruction is your only way to effectively deal damage.

If I were you I'd keep everything within the mage archetype is you are going for "the best" mage. You have quite a few alchemy perks chosen, which is no longer a mage skill, and very few enchantment perks. I'm playing a pure mage, and while I don't have a definite plan on what I'm gonna pick, I'm definitely staying with strictly magical perks. I'm also gonna avoid, as much as possible, using any skills from outside my chosen profession.

What about bound weapons, those would still be part of magic but would still have an effect on other skills

Depending on the potion effects available, Alchemy could be just as viable for a mage as Enchanting. I know they wanted to keep the number of skills per archetype equal, whilst giving each one a crafting skill, but I really don't buy Alchemy as a stealth skill *shrug*

True mages don't bother with physical armor; we have spells that do that do the job just as well, and without the extra weight.
