I am playing a kajiit and want to use my claws as my melee weapon (I am an archer). But the problem is I have flames set as my right mouse button. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to unequip the magic from my right hand! This game is awesome but the [censored] UI is really pising me off....

You just click on the spell again, just like you would a weapon. PC, Xbox or PS3?

There is no way to unequip a spell in right hand. What you can do is equip a weapon (that will unequip the spell) and then unequip the weapon.

I take it you tried to un-equip through hotkeys. That is not directly possible however it is possible to equip a weapon + a shield and then un-equip those. When I feel like being bare handed after casting magic I just tap 1-2-1-2 quickly as I have 1 assigned to a mace and 2 assigned to a shield.

Okay, I just tested this out. Are your spells in your Favorites list? Just open the favorites menu and select the spell again. It deselects the spell, leaving you with nothing equipped and ready for bare-knuckle brawling.

That won't work. If you select the spell, you'll just have it in both hand. He's talking about RIGHT hand, not left hand. The only way to unequip the right hand spell is to do what I said above.

On the contrary, I just did this. I've done it with the spell in both hands and I've done it with the spell in the right hand and a shield in the left. Go to the favorites menu, and select the spell again.

It works just like a weapon. Select it again and it's removed from your hand.

Now, key point: what platform are you playing on, and if PC, what control device? Because that might be the key.

Oh, sorry, didn't see that. I'm on PC too, but I'm using an Xbox controller. Odd that a two-button mouse doesn't work the same way in this instance.
