How can I get my Xbox to update skyrim?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 2:54 am

Hi All, and many thanks in advance!

My Xbox is connected to the internet, but I do not subscribe to Xbox Live Gold.

I can go to the network section and test the connection to xbox live and it is fine.

My xbox also recieves all the system updates and regularly updates the console.

My prolem is despite turning on / off and going into and out of skyrim about 40-50 times it has never offered to update the game.

Is there any way I can manually update the game - or how can I make the xbox update the game itself?

Many thanks in advance,

Mike

Are you certain that you don't already have the update?

Hi Puck,

Many thanks for the very fast reply.

It says version 1.0.4 and I haven't had the sp[lash screen where it normally says you need to update the game in order to play it?

Thanks again,

Mike

You can clear the cache by going to the memory section and Select your storage device, hit Y and select Clear System Cache. The next time you run Skyrim it should re- download the update. I've done this a few times to see if it remedys the few crashes when loading between areas, I can't say if it's done much good though.

OK before clearing the cache make sure you sign back into your profile after the network test and then start the game.

It should give you the pop-up forcing you to sign out of xbox live and accept the title update.

Personally I would only clear the cache as a last resort because of the texture issue.
