ARROWS STUCK in your Characters body that Will NOT Go Away

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 2:19 pm

I LOVE SKYRIM!!! i should make that clear before i even start. Obviously tons of work has gone into this game and that much as apparent just from the first half hour of play.. The scope is grand, graphics are pretty, and the story is engaging..

I am playing on Ps3, and the one thing that i want to address is how being struck with arrows or other sharp projectile types will stick tenaciously to your character for very very long periods of time.. From what i can see.. the only way to get rid of them is to get hit by more arrows or whatnot, so that the old ones are replaced by the new. SOOooometimes getting hit again will get rid of them all,, but sometimes not

There have been times where i've been walking around a village with maasive ice spikes impaled through my characters genitals.. and jutting out of his temple.. Lol..

This may seem like a minor issue.. But for me.. The degree to which i am immersed in a game is the key determinant to how long i will play it.. or how much i will enjoy it, and i think many RPG gamers will agree with me on that one.. When a games HUD is littered with indicators, and health bars floating above peoples heads and has bodies that disappear etc etc.. this just reminds me i'm playing a videogame, and not "ACtually in the world" being that character..

SKryim is Fantastic for immersion, and allows you to really get into your character.. However i find it Veeeery very very difficult to take my cool character seriously when he has two arrows jutting out of each eye socket. . (not making that up.. played for two days before eye arrows became dislodged)

i believe there are many people with a similar Problem, and i'm wondering if this is one of the issues bethesda is working to get around. i know they've got their hands full right now, but this is a pretty frustrating issue.. alas, i won't stop plaing because of this, as there is sOOo much the game does RIGHT that makes it incredible. But PLEEEaaase bethesda, see if this issue can be addressed as well.

wow. Arrows. Thats really devastating.

Dude... you have a really hard fall coming your way in about 40 hours of saved game time. Arrows are gonna be the least of your worries.

I'm afraid so. At about 40 hours in you'll start to notice your game is getting a little choppy and fights are becoming harder. The frame rate drops as your save game file size increases. At about 6-7mb it starts. Most people in the 9-12mb range are reporting they can no longer play as they can't move around and characters don't interact with them anymore.

bear in mind your save increases by 50-100kb every time you save.

So trust me, you'll be longing for the days when you had arrows sticking out of your head cause at least then you were actually able to play the game.

This happened to me. Had about three arrows permanently stuck to my character.

Simple solution: Go find a corpse, store any arrows you have in your inventory on the corpse, and voilĂ ! The arrows will be gone.
