[Request] Beggar's alley home

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 11:08 am

Once the kit comes out I would LOVE a alley in the city that my skoomaed out assassin can call a home. Ramshack living for the win. I want to play as the hard on my luck loser but all the houses I have encountered in Skyrim are just to lavish for such a play style. Maybe even have an orphan kid you take in as a butler. Kind of like the movie "The Professional" without all the love undertons. OK, it doesn't even need to be an alley, just a run down simple house will do.

And what city would you like this in?

See, that is the thing. I don't know. I think it would look best in Windhelm just because of the city looks dirty and old to me and it has that slight racial divide between Nords and the elves but I don't like the layout of the city itself. I haven't made it to Solitude yet (be carried away by side quests all over the place) so it may be a fit there too since it is a bigger city, Riften looks like it would be too cheerful a place as with Whiterun. As for a shack, the outskirts Hjaalmarch seems like the perfect home.

From what I've heard Riften is like a dirty port town, akin to that one town in Fable II. I believe the thieves guild is based in Riften. It certainly sounds like the right city for you.

Actually I kinda like your idea for an alley "house." You could put non-respawning containers around specifically for the player to use, a cheap "bed" made of wood and fishing nets or some other detritus. It usually does boil down to a simple, run-down shack, but I think this idea is way more interesting and cool. If somebody else doesn't get to it, I just may work on something like this myself.

Beggars have a house in Riften down at the water, you just need to add some safe containers and perhaps an owned bed. and you are good.

Think I should've clarified the idea that I posted was doing this all in an outdoors alley. Basically, it's not even a house, but a spot you can live in. :P

I haven't been to all the cities yet, but that does sound like a fun mod to work on or see.

That is what my alley idea was too. Didn't know if it was possible though. I was also thinking maybe having it seperated by a hung flap/door if it was to be considered an interior.

Yep it's possible, and yes it was your idea. ;) Your idea is what I was fleshing out since I thought it was so cool. I was just trying to clarify the confusion. Think the person I responded to thought I was talking about making a shack.

I think your idea is pretty cool like I said before. It's different, that's for sure. Would put a new interesting spin on the typical housing mods/designs. What I described though was basically what would be involved. The same as making a shack, except no shack.
