I'm longing for this ever since daggerfall and when I first saw the horse carts in the promo videos then the actual animated one in the game's intro video I went NUTS.
It will be like taking candy from a kid, since everything is there, meshes animations everything. We only have to wait for the CK to come out and a resourceful scripter to put things together.

I cant wait to live out from my own horse cart and build a small camp around it in the wilderness, then move on.

horsecart would be fun however I'm not sure how easy it would be to make, it has to be connected to the horse but move independently up and down and tilt sideway.
However we have a bit of help, if we can use the small handcarts in the game to follow the character we could scale it up and use with an horse. The wheels rotates on the handcarts and you can push them forward.

No they are not really useable, the only thing you can do with them is walk into them and kick them forward, however the base functionality is in the game, the missing part is to connect the front of the shaft to the character with flexibility so it can move up and down.

Sounds perfect for people who prefer to play adventurer/wanderer types. How would it potentially affect companions going 'home'?

did you play the game? introduction video? there is our horse cart fully animated, connected to the horse and all. i know its pre-scripted and goes on a set course, but the basics are there.

Having a horse and cart was one of my favorite parts of Daggerfall. It allowed you to play the role of a merchant quite well. And in Skyrim, could you imagine how many dragon bones you could pile into a horse-drawn cart!?
