I bought a 3DS, it was one of the few major expensive luxuries I've ever bought for myself.
it relaly depends on what you want. I got it along with OoT
to this day that is the only game I have actually bought retail for my 3DS, I rented Super Mario 3D land off of Gamefly and beat it, along with the bonus missions. I loved that game as much as I loved OoT, but I never actually bought it.
That's not to say that I've no used my 3DS. I bought it before the price drop so I got that Ambassador pass that gives me 20 free games. 10 of which will never be releaseed into the Marketplace. I, as I expected, loved Yoshi's Island as it's one of my favorite games of all time, thus was ecstatic when I found it was gonna be on the 3DS. I also really enjoyed Fire-Emblem.
I've also bought a few old Gameboy Games off the Market place as well, Alleyway, which is a great Tetris-style time killer, Kirby's Dream Land, which was great, and Super Mario Land 2: Six Gold Coins.
I've found, for me anyway, that the 3DS's online capabilties with their market place has been the biggest thing for me.
and OoT is amazing no matter what system it's on
if you like apps, old games or downloadable games, and you have internet then you'll like the 3DS as its online store is updating pretty regularly.
if you want it strictly for retail games, then no iwouldn't recommend it.
the other thing I really wish they'd do, and I don't understand why they don't, is I wish they would release SNES games onto the Virtual Console as well, they only release Gameboy games or NES games occasionally. I know damn well the 3DS could run every SNES game in existence so why they don't release them is beyond me.
