Audio cutting out while driving

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:52 pm

Has anybody else experienced some audio issues??

Most noticeably when driving if you let off the accelerator and let it coast you lose engine noise, even when you hit the gas again.

Also I found a lot of the dialog with npc will cut out on their last sentence.

if anybody has any tweaks/ suggestions that could resolve this it would be much appreciated.

I've got the same problem - the game audio (overall) doesn't cut out, just the buggy "engine" noise. I DID notice after implementing the graphics "fixes" that my audio popping (I would actually have momentary pops/lapses in all audio) seemed to vanish, but things like this I believe are GAME bugs, not driver ones since it is only "the car" or "the ATV" etc.

No fix that I've been able to come up with, sry :(

edit:
Buggy engine noise cuts out when you let go of the "move forward" key, then you tap it again and VvrrRRmmm, let go and /quiet again, tap "VrrrRRrrM" etc. etc.

It's either CPU or you need to update your sound card drivers. Refer to your manuals.

I don't recall any audio popping before I put in the gfx fixes, Good point you raise,

to clarify when i say audio cuts out its not all the audio just one layer of it, in this case the engine noise.. the music still plays in the background.

Speaking of music.. the music when on a mission with enemies nearby has a real shocking loop where the track restarts abruptly, it really takes you out of the intense moments in the game..
Would be good to see fixes to simple things like that.

I assure you it is neither my CPU or my drivers,

I have an i7 2600k clocked at 4600mhz

and my drivers are all up to date.

I highly doubt it is EITHER of these - it is only ONE sound (channel?), typically the engine of the buggy while driving (you let go of the accelerator and the engine sound STOPS completely, and when you tap the accelerator the engine noise resumes).

I have also noticed the soundtrack thing, it's kinda weird, I'm not sure what's up with that, I just assumed maybe I didn't complete the scripted event fast enough or something, so it replayed a piece etc.... ah the little things that pull us back into reality. It's like watching a movie in the theatre and every 5 minutes or so they flip on the lights again and everyone in the theatre points and you and goes "Ahhhhhhhhhhh" then goes dark again and back to the game.. yeah I HATE that feeling of being pulled out of the game :(... heh, GL, I hope they fix this in the infamous approaching "patch".

I EITHER THIS OR EITHER THAT IS EITHER YOUR PC OR UR FACE. I would recommend buying Auslogics Boostspeed and going to Guru3d and learning some tweaks.

I have a SB X-Fi Fatal1ty Extreme Gamer with lastest drivers and I have the same problem while I'm driving vehicles.
Acceleratte and break motor engine sounds lost on the reload of a savegame.
I think it doesn't affect rest of the engine sounds, but I can't confirm due I quit the game and start again.

It need to be FIXED! :flamethrower:

u mad bro?

it isn't a driver or cpu issue - i've tweaked the hell out of the game to make it playable, "out of the box" I was running around in polygons, there were no textures at all, everything was a blue non-texture polygon and now it's working as it should - one sound cutting out when you STOP using it is not a driver issue, it doesn't cut out when I'm playing 8 channels or 20 different sound files play, there is no 'idle' sound or 'rev down' noise playing.
