Skyrim Not Launching

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 12:13 am

Well last night after waiting for Skyrim to unlock on steam and having it decrypt I tried launching it. Everything seemed like it was working fine, the small menu with "Play, Options, Data Files, Tech Support, Exit" came up. All of the buttons work except Play, if I press Play the menu just goes away. Steam also says I'm running Skyrim while the small menu is up, but once I press play and it goes away Steam says I've stopped playing. This seems like a simple problem but I've tried validating the files, re installing, changing the sound quality in the control panel to a lower one and tried running in Vista compatibility while running as administrator but nothing has worked so far. After looking on forums and google searches for a while I seem to be the only person having this specific problem. Is anybody out there also having this, or any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks in advance for anyone that can help.

We aren't clairvoyants. To get information, you must provide information. You haven't done so.

Of course, I'm using an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M and a Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 980 @ 3.33GHz on Windows 7
