Will there be a patch for this?

The official patch (dl by Steam itself) works for me. Have you downloaded it yet ? And the driver fix AMD for your HD 5850 ?

Otherwise after the rage.exe of the launcher, try with insert +cvaradd jobs_numThreads -1
