Wood Chopping and Its Uses?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 10:32 am

Has anyone seen anything about chopping wood or what we'd use wood for? We know there are saw mills, but that's about it. Does anyone know anything more about this?

Well, I don't know about arrows as it said that they were crafted at the forge, but I could be wrong. In any event, there has to be more uses than just arrows.

Fair enough. I look forward to crafting mods that let you use it for something else. It'd be cool to make a house mesh out of harvested wood.

Yeah, would be nice to be able to build a home somewhere....like you buy a plot of land from an NPC character... make them quests, where you find a burned out farm and locate a clue to who lived there. You find the owner in town, he offers to sell it if you can retrieve the family heirloom. You have to clear a nearbye cave of baddies to retrieve it from the monsters that ransacked the house.

After you get the dead you go to the noble in town to get a permit, where you chose which house you'd like to build and pay the "taxes" for it. From there, you gather the required wood, metal, etc. to construct the house. I guess you'd buy the furnishings much like Oblivion but wouldn't it be cool if furniture was bought and placed individually....or better yet, crafted and placed. (Like in Ultima Online to name a classic)

That would be terrific, but it seems unlikely.

Hmmm, so if we could build our houses out of the wood we cut, imagine if we could build a house out of Dragon bones.

Who lives here? The Dragonborn of course in his Dragonbone house.

The first thing you can do with wood is make a crafting table, which will allow you to make more tools (pickaxe, axe, shovel, etc). Then you dig.
