Very low sound quality of Voice Actors and Music!

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 3:32 pm

I got the game today and I really like it, thanks Bethesda for making the best games out there!

Now to my problem:

I'm playing on my Computer @ ultra settings in 1080p. It looks great. I also got a Sound Card: Asus Xonar DX which i use my Sennheiser 558 headphones with (great sound).

But in Skyrim, all the music tracks and every voice (actor) sounds like 96 kb/s MP3:s. It sounds terribly, almost like a cheap Youtube movie filmed with a cellphone. Is this some kind of bug, or is the sound quality really this low? Really starting to annoy me. The weird thing is that it's only the Voices and music which sounds bad, all the other sounds sound great.

Is the sound volume low too? It is on mine and it's the usual level which I play all my other games.

It was quite low at start, so I had to turn it up a bit, but that's not my problem.

I'm gonna connect my headphones to the motherboard jacket, and se if it sounds better (though it shouldn't)

Make sure your sound is set to 24bit, 48khz... fixed my sound issues.

Playback devices -> Speakers -. Properties => Advanced

Tried that, but it didn't work.

But my Voices can be heard, it's just that they sound like crap.

I can set both the sound option in WIndows and my sound program/driver I got with my headphones. At some options, the game won't start at all.

Hell at least the NPCs in your game don't talk with clouds of demonic echo bees bursting out their mouths half way through a sentence nor does every building sound like a beehive on fire...

I wonder if Bethesda will ever bring out another patch addressing some of the other issues people seem to be having mainly the sound ones I wish they would hurry up and do so.
