Does anyone have a savegame over 70 hours that isn't totally

Seeing if this truly is only happening to "a few people", or if it's an inevitability. Please let me know.

+65 hours in, 10mb save file, and my issues only get worse and worse.

I spent the majority of my early game doing quests for The Thieve's Guild and The Dark Brotherhood afterwards. I never noticed terrible lag and framerate drops, probably because I spent most of my time inside houses or in dungeons. But since I completed them, and have begun to explore the outside world of Skyrim more, and my framerate slows to a crawl. Epic battles become powerpoint presentations.

It's honestly quite sad and pathetic to see a game as epic and as broad in scope be so hindered by these issues. It's even more pathetic how a gamebreaking flaw such as this has made it to market AGAIN, after it's already been seen in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

In the same boat brother.

*spoilers*

Just invaded whiterun and what should've been an epic and exciting invasion was a slideshow that left a sour taste in my mouth.

I have 95 hours on my file, and only have a relatively small save file, only 8000kb still. I am very good at cleaning up after myself, leave nothing on the floor, put unwanted items on bodies, keep all doors closed. Been doing it since morrowind.

Ive only experienced "slide show" frame rate drops a handful of times, once when i was running away from an anicent dragon (had no fire resist gear on me) and yea, frame rate dropped into the single digits and i died trying to get away that time.

Most frame rate problems are in towns/cities, with other being in the field when it tries to load in assets (trees, rocks, textures, ect)

Ive only had ONE crash when walking out of my home once, was in the past hour actually.

Same here. I'm at 80 hours or so, my save is about 7.8something.
My http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1274726-shrinking-your-savegame-size/ seems to be helping me keep my save size down, but who knows if that's actually affecting performance. I have not really been in any massive brawls, like the ones in the YouTube videos where everything is a slideshow.

I have a 20 gig launch-day PS3, not a slim. I typically play about 4-5 hours without having to reboot. Played 10 hours straight last weekend without rebooting. I have not uninstalled/re-installed... yet (why temp fate if it ain't broke.. yet).

Don't suppose you'd want to create a "control" save and a "test" save, and play one for a while without doing your "wait a month" trick?

Ha, IGN used this thread in their video. I lol'd. At least someone other than outraged gamers are starting to say something.

We shouldn't be having to focus on keeping our file sizes down as we progress in the game.

This is The Elder Scrolls. Not The Elder Janitors.

While I agree with you, it is a work-around until the patch is released. Yeah, it's a pain in the ass, but if everyone truly wants to play so bad instead of being here and complaining, try it.

I see no point. There's no stopping your file from swelling. You can only slow it's progression.

And, if they fix this with a patch it's very likely you will need to start a new game for it to take effect.

Game time - 73Hrs Aprox
Save file size - 11Mb

I tend to play for 5 to 15 hour stretch's *no lifer* after around 3 hours the game will begin to get choppy and aiming will become less responsive. After around 6 hours the game will get worse by the hour, i have managed to cope with this and progress to the point of completing main story, civil war, 2 guilds and many Misc quests but it is very tedious. I find that by 10 hours i tend to turn off my play station and watch a TV show for 20 min then return too my game. This will temporally fix the FPS drop and unresponsive controls for maybe another 3 to 5 hours. I have found that if i uncheck my auto save function except character menu it seems to last a little longer also.

I have also had the game crash on me once, when there was allot of things going on, I entered a fort with allot of people inside and cast Storm Call, instant freeze to crash. A friend of mine has also purchased Skyrim for PS3 and had 5 crash's, awful lag and various in game bugs (such as dragon souls not being collected and NPCs losing dialogue options.)

I do hope we get a patch for this, it hasent really upset me too much as ive experianced alot of the game already but i would love to replay through one day with no issues. Here is me hoping. :tes:
