Single Player 1FPS issue - question

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 1:40 pm

I've tried every fix like most people here but none of it has worked.

The issue I'm having is when try to start the campaign; no matter what settings, load options, configs or drivers I use. The game drops to less than 1FPS and proceeds to stutter for as long as I let it go.

BUT

When I get to the main menu of the game when I first boot up, it's super smooth and no problems; I can change all my GFX in game (or use a config file if i feel like but that has made no difference). I have the latest drivers from ATI and a decent computer

Phenom X6 1065T 2.9ghz (turbo 3.4ghz)
6gig ram
ATI 6790 1gb vram

Does any one else have this issue?

Jo... there are some possibilities....

> Disable CCC (AI. Control Center) of Graficcard

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25540386&postcount=5

> Then you must have the Preview V2 Driver (control this http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/GPU122AMDCat1110PreDriverV2.aspx )

> Then sometimes, it can be, because of Logitech Software (Stop any Logitech Software for Logitech Gaming Keyboard via Taskmanager

> Then also disable Steam Cloud Community while you want to play Rage

There is another way to fix this Lags bec. of CCC tery to start the Game with this add. You can make a Desktop Shortcut, Done, > then right mouse to Rage (on your Desktop > Settings > and add this line behind the writed in the ordersline.

+jobs_numThreads 0 (don't forget the space before +jobs_numThreads 0)

Tried the CCC AI thing as I hadn't heard that one before; but it didn't help thanks though.

hey mate, i have the same graphic card hd 5830 and at firt had the same problem 1 fps after the intro video ends. i fix for that is: copy the atioglxx.dll inside rage folder, instal latest ati driver the 11.10 v2 or something like that? in ccc ( catalyst control center) in gaming section- > 3d aplication setting put the wait for vertical refresh on always off ( move that thing to the left) and uncheck triple buffering click apply rebot the pc and than start the game and in the game settings disable vertical sinc ( OFF) . this works for me , it still has some textures loading slow, and some strange glare that freaks me out sometimes, but it playable until new patch arrives. hope i helped u , sorry for killing english here :whistling: my english is bad. cheers.

This worked, I went from less than 1 fps to about 15 fps its now running 20fps on average and spiking up to 30 going to try some config files.. It's not playable really but at least its running now.

I think it was the ATIlog that fixed it.

Same problem here!!!!!!!!
I submitted an official support request with Bethesda over a week ago and do you know what they have done? early this week they finally asked for my directx file and then nothing. They don't support their poorly made game very well.
