Texture Issue Solution?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 4:01 pm

I've heard that if you install the game onto a flash drive (8 - 16 GB minimum), then the game will run as smoothly as if it was installed on the xbox hard drive while solving the texture issue at the same time. I have yet to test this THEORY but please feel free to try this as well so I can know the results in variation.

Let me know if this works or not and please spare me the time of walking to Wallymart and spending time away from Skyrim.

Thanks, forum.

You have to reformat the USB from the Xbox 360,if you do this, you can use the USB as a HDD or a memory for the Xbox 360 :).

The rumor says that if you install the game in the USB and use the HDD for chache, the game will have better performance.

Can anyone confirm this?.

Hey friends.

I have tried this USB solution and it has worked for me. Now I dont get the low textures on hands, weapons and armor as well as low textures in cities.. I think this is as good as it can be without the patch. I can really see the difference. I use a Sony 8GB flash stick.

Great news, are you still using your 360's hdd for game saves, or are you using the usb device? Thanks!

Didn't work for me. Installed the game on the usb. Started game with the safe files on the hard drive and the textures are still low.
Took a few save game files over on the usb and it still does not work.

Should I try installing it again and clear the cache memory?
And if so do I first clear the cache and then install or the other way around?

As far as I can remember I deleted the game from my HDD as well as save files by mistake :).. then reformatted the flash drive and installed the game on it. I didnt clear the cache in the process and dont know if it makes any difference. Maybe its still not 100% fixed i dont know. but its a major change as far as I can tell. It looked like morrowind before..

Only advice I can give is stop repeatedly clearing your cache!

When playing from disc when you access the in-game menu ( items, magic, map, skills ) you can hear your 360's drive reading and building the cache. What I did to help fix my texture issue was keep opening the menu and waiting for the drive to stop spinning then going back into the game and re-opening the menu until the drive stops reading everytime you do this. Result cache built, improved textures.

Constantly manually clearing the HDD cache doesnt help anything IMHO
