I got the ceremonial axe and sword in the quest, but when i approach the door at press on it nothing happens.
is there anyway to fix that, or do i just need something else?

Is the quest arrow pointing you at the door currently? If it is I'd try leaving the dungeon, saving, quitting and restarting the game, then loading up that save and going back into the dungeon to try again.

Just to let you know, if you do get it working, the battle at the end is an absolute [censored]... at a low level and without exploiting AI that is
