Ranting is not constructive

Yes, we have established that the game has gamebreaking lag. Bethesda has acknowledged the problem to the best of their ability (They are not going to put a "do not buy" sticker on it, are they..) and are working on (and may already have fixed) the problem.

Still, there are 10 new topics a day reserved for ranting. How are Bethesda supposed to find useful, constructive posts in this forum? The reason i use this forum is to report bugs and find easy solutions. Both of which are impossible amidst all the ranting.

You are shooting yourselfs in the foot. They might fix the lag but other bugs are not reported and might go under the radar. And lets get one thing straight... Does this game look like it has been developed by someone who doesnt "give a [censored]" about its customers? Anyone who has played the first 5 hours would say no. In terms of content, in contrast to other games, they could easily have justified a $180 price tag on it. To be fair, they shouldnt have stuck with the 11.11.11 date but the game is flawed on all platforms, its not just us.

As it stands now, any problems they do fix in the game, they fix despite of this forum, not because of it (The lag would have been fixed anyway, lets face it, they were hoping to fix it upon release). Out of the 500 posts about the lag, maybe 10 have been constructive. Behind the lag issue lies game of the century in my opinion so stop creating new rant posts and be part of the solution. Report bugs so bethesda can fix them

And finally, yes, I am going to preorder Bethesda's next ps3 release as well.

Did they do a sub-par job of porting Skyrim to PS3? Yes. Has this issue been seen in their previous games? Yes. Have they ever officially said they're going to fix this specific framerate issue for PS3 owners? No. Have they fixed it in previous games? No.

They know there's a problem. They either aren't going to fix it, or can't fix it. Lack of communication to us here on their official forums leads me to that conclusion, as well as it never being fixed in previous games. However, if they do indeed fix the issue, and make sure it doesn't occur in future DLC or titles, then of course the smaller bugs and glitches can be conveyed.

I know there are bugs and glitches in Skyrim that could make it game-breaking, such as not being able to contine a quest line for whatever reason. It's just those issues have been overshadowed by game-breaking stability issues.

Less ranting would occur if they would communicate with us.

Here here! This forum is full of whining, bratty ingrates!

Yes, Bethesda shouldn't really have released the game in it's current state, but they will fix it.

In the mean time, play something else! :P

Are you certain they'll fix it?

I think ranting may actually be helpful... In fact...

Out of all three systems, with all the bugs, the PS3 lag issue is BY FAR the most publicized (Kotaku, IGN, the Guardian, etc...). There is NO WAY they ignore the most glaring issue, unless they want to be destroyed by the various gaming journalism sites.

I would be beyond shocked if they didn't put in a fix (or at least a way to drastically improve it).

They have yet to make an announcement that they have acknowledged the lag issue. They would be blind not to be able to see how obvious this issue is.

My thoughts are they are trying to avoid answering their customers regarding this issue. This would be because they have NO fix, or they just don't bother to fix it. And ofcourse they would try their best to cover up their game flaws, because that would repel off the potential PS3 customers.

Hines definitely acknowledged the issue here:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2011/nov/18/elder-scrolls-skyrim-ps3-problems?newsfeed=true

However, when he said 'Most users aren't experiencing this issue on the PS3' I don't know if he is referring to PS3 Skyrim users or just PS3 users in general (i.e; other PS3 games aren't lagging). I hope he doesn't think that most skyrim PS3 users aren't experiencing this....cuz I think they all are....

I think it is being downplayed exactly because they have a fix in the pipeline. If not, they wouldnt have released the game. If this was truly an issue over which they had no control they would have been going in to damage limitation now. In other words, if they start saying "dont buy our game", then you can start worrying. Instead, it is being downplayed which is telling me they have this issue under control. They are walking a PR tightrope at the moment and i think they, and especially Pete Hines, are handling the situation quite well. I am quite happy and reassured at the statements that have been made so far and i am enjoying my second character which should not be running into any issues before the patch is available.

In the meanwhile i want to help the developers by pinpointing bugs instead of condemning them, over and over again. Only problem is I havent found a lot of them yet.

Yeah what ingrates. Expecting the product they paid money for would function in the manner they were promised it would. Why just the other day I bought a brand new car and came to find out I couldn't drive it off the lot because the engine was broken. Of course I did what any reasonable person would and just waited while they took a month to fix it. Boy I sure do love to walk to places.

I think we should march on Bethesda HQ. We should all show up in their parking lot with torches and pitchforks. Occupy Bethesda.

Useless thread is still useless.

I appreciate your point about buying a new product and expecting it to work, but this is the games industry we're talking about. The game gets developed, play-tested to a degree and released to the public. The masses buy the game, pick up on the problems that exist (and this is probably the easiest way to pinpoint the issues), report back to the developer and the problems get fixed. If Bethesda are as good as a company of their calibre should be, they'll get the post-Thanksgiving patch made so it addresses all or most of the issues highlighted on this, the official, Skyrim forum.

And obviously this isn't exclusive to any one game developer, this is generally how it works. "You lot play it, tell us what's wrong with it and we'll aim to fix it in a few weeks/months". The sooner the better, obviously.

We're all fops for buying the game on release. Best thing is to wait 6 months until it's at least had some decent level of repair, then buy and enjoy. But we don't. Why? Because we're svckers who expect the best from day 1.

Like I said, that's video games.

Exactly. Like I've said, yes I'm mad and upset that I've waited for exactly how long for this, and I can't even play it? But, oh well. If the patch fixes it, awesome, I'm happy. If not, then I'm trading everything in for an Xbox.

I don't do any gaming aside from TES so it's not too big of a deal for me.

I'd say the more patient we are, the faster we'll get some form of response
