I was in Russia in holiday an bought my game there.

I activated my game through Steam, but didnt download it because of the hotel wifi speed.

Back in Germany i download it at home and could play it without any problem in German.

Yesterday after playing the game i got on steam an update and i was very happy about it.

It turns out that update deleted my German Language of the game i now i only can play it in English, Russian, etc.

I cant play it anymore in German.

I thought this game in Multilanguage... Is this a Bethesda problem or a Steam problem ??

It seems like there was a bug that allowed us to play with the german language with an RU-Key. With the new patch they fixed it. But the german language still exist in the steam directory.
The website where i bought my key is looking for a solution. I will report when there is a way to play the game in german again.

I don't have the game yet, but try going to the Steam directory and finding the german files and try renaming so they have the same name as the english language files, while renaming the english files to eg. 'filename' and ".bak".

So maybe like this

English language file --> English language Backup
German language file --> English language file

there doesnt exist files like this.
On my search I found a few german patches but they only work with crackes and so on. I dont wan to crash my game or steam account with stuff like that. But its definitely possible to change the laguage

If Bethesda and Steam arent doing something about this i am going to CRACK the hell out of this game.

And i am going to give CRACKED versions to all my friends.

I want the other languages back. And YES i have a russian version.

Bethesda said this game would be multilanguage.

Publisher don't want you to buy a game in a market that's not the one you're "supposed" to buy, especially if they have cheaper game prices.
That's why this is most likely not a problem with Steam or Bethesda that will be fixed, instead it's actually intended.
Probably only forgot to include this kind of "region locking" before release and activated it afterwards. I wouldn't bet they'll add the removed languages again and would expect future releases to have the same restrictions.

If you've bought the game on the steam store and they advertised it with German language included you might get your money back.
Otherwise you're probably out of luck

I finally have the solution.
You have to open the start-option of Rage and type in +set sys_lang "german". Then you got the subtitle back to german.
For the german synchro you need the german.streamed. But this file have been deleted with the last patch.
You can delete the game and download it again but make sure you disable auto-update.
Then you save the german.base file placed it in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\rage\base.
After that you can update the game and place the saved file in the directory.
