I looked for her corpse but couldn't find it. I assumed i had accidentally killed her.
Many days and battles later, I went to the Temple of Mara to arrange a wedding. When i revisited the Temple, preparing for the ceremony,
there was Lydia's corpse on the floor by the door! (She had never been to Riften while she lived.)
Not knowing what else to do, i looted her body (when she disappeared she was carrying a number of valuable items).
So now we had an undressed corpse in the Temple!
Occasionally some member of the Church would walk by and make a comment like "Oh, what happened here?"
So Lydia was noticed by others in the game!
But otherwise the corpse was ignored and the ceremony proceeded. We stepped over her lifeless form to get out of the Temple.
Doubtless, all a glitch of some kind, but a very spooky one. Had Lydia returned on my wedding day to haunt me?
