After just installing and launching the game for the first time I choose New Game. It asks me if I want to start a new game and I say yes. And then... nothing.

I see the Dragon crest. I see the mist over the otherwise black background. I hear the music. Other than that nothing happens. It just sits there as if waiting for me to do something.

Already off the main page. Bump.

Heading to bed. Hope there's a fix by tomorrow.

Already verified the cache in Steam. Already tried Low graphics settings. Going to look for a beta graphics driver next.

AHA! Found the solution, the MASTER PC RACE REIGNS SUPREME!

STRANGE!

I only had minor crashes until I edited these settings. Now it continuously crashes! If a ps3 or xbox game did that at launch, gamesas would be BANKRUPT.

I still like this company but not as much as I used too. I am sure they will get around to it. It is only a few hours after launch after all. But still, this is pretty sloppy.

The sound fix did NOT work for me. But I found something that did. Under Nvidia Control Panel, switch Antialiasing - Mode AND Setting to Application controlled. Game launched just fine after that.

The sound "fix" did not work for this case.

There is no crash to desktop. If you are crashing to desktop please make another thread as it does not apply in my case.

I posted two threads in this section of the forums that should fix you guys up. I was having the same problems and they weren't related to the sound setting/fix at all. It's the AA and Shadows on Ultra. Turn AA off completely, leaving AF on should be ok as I'm running mine at 16 samples. Also put shadows on high, not ultra, and you all should be good to go. Hope that helps.

I have solved the issue by verifying the integrity of the game cache. Apparently there was a missing file.
