FXAA injectorsharpening mod will not let my launcher run...t

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 10:08 am

Hey guys...downloaded that FXAA injector/sharpening mod from skyrim nexus, everything went fine during installation, but like many people, when I try to run the launcher it just says it is not working correctly and shuts down. Lots of people said that they had luck getting it to work by running it as an admin, but I tried that as well...same thing. Uninstalling it lets my game run perfectly still, but I'd like to figure out a way around it since the sharpening looks awesome. Any suggestions? Also, is there an .ini setting value that I could just change to geet the sharpening/shader detail without using the mod? Thanks in advance

You need the latest version of DirectX 9. Download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=35

If you installed in Program Files, you need to move your installation.

Everyone's Skyrim installation is in the Steam folder. Even if you used symbolic links, everything will still "point" to the Steam/steamapps/common/skyrim folder.

I had this problem, and fixed it by putting zeros for all the AA settings in InjFX_Settings.h. If you've done everything else right and it still won't work, you might try that.

Even if Steam is in Program Files, issues can occur. It's how UAC works. The Steam install would need to be moved. That's what I was talking about.

Ah, gotcha. I think that's less of an issue with Windows 7, but I guess we don't know what OS the OP is using.

OP, try running the standard TESV.exe file (found in Steam/steamapps/common/skyrim). If you get a d3d file missing error, you know you need to install the latest version of DirectX. If something else happens, well, then it might be one of the other suggestions here!
