Not What You Thought? (Spoilers!)

TES V: Skyrim SPOILERS ahead!

When I first heard of TES Online (which was actually just yesterday) I expected a continuation from Skyrim's events.

It seemed like the perfect setup:
The Dragonborn has defeated Alduin, ended the Skyrim Civil War, and all that remains now is the coming war between the Dominion and the Empire.

I don't know about you, but I expected TESO to feature the second war between the Dominion and the Empire to be the plot focus of the game, and players would pick a side and fight for it. Instead, it is taking a step back to the Second Era.

Does this mean:
-TESO may also partly take place in the future sometimes.
-TESO is a stand-alone game meant to describe the events of Tamriel before all their other games, and Bethesda will continue making common TES games that continue telling the story in the future.
-Something else.

Cause to me, I REALLY don't see how they can just leave the series hanging off right before the second war between the new Dominion and the Empire.

What did you think?

An entirely different studio is making TES:O. Bethesda has nothing to do with it, other than giving the occasional "okay" to lore pieces. They'll keep making the SP games, same as always.

Alright, that makes me feel better.

Thanks Ringo.

EDIT: Actually, I ain't to sure if I DO feel better! Let's hope they keep true to TES and not go wild n crazy about it.

As long as Bethesda does know what they're saying 'okay' to and whether it really is okay. Hopefully this new company doesn't try to slip anything under their noses.
