How much did the frame cost? I wouldn't mind looking into framing mine.

Indeed! Sad, for it is no tapestry or the like!

I'm planning on doing the same.

What are the exact dimensions of the map? I haven't taken mine out of the case yet.

It was £40 including the wall pins from here (uk site):

http://www.ezeframe.co.uk/

They custom build the frames to your dimensions, my map was 678x484 mm, and they made the frame 100% perfect to fit.

burlap map

Whaaaaat?!

I asked around for people who bought retail if the map was just paper or fabric, and I was told paper so I just bought the game on Steam.

I feel cheated

It is paper, just a really thick parchment like burlap paper.

I spent ages ironing it under a towel, the creases still remained but they flattened out a lot and are barely visible inside the frame.

Make sure to save it and tell your grandkids this is what the world was like back in the good old days. Tell them about slaying dragons and when they call you on it you have a map from your youth as proof.

That is really sweet. Much smarter than naming your kid dovakhin or getting a skyrim tattoo. This is beautiful and does not require surgery or expensive legal proceedings to undo.
