Oxygen meter?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 8:53 pm

Apologies if anyone has already mentioned this.

When I swim under water I don't get an air meter... I only know I am out of air when I start losing health... Anyone else had this?

This is on 360, so it could conceivably be a missing texture in the HUD...

For a while I've been thinking it might have been purposely left out... but it seems an odd thing to remove... How would you know that an Underwater Breathing spell had run out?

I have a similar problem except i can breathe underwater literally forever and im playing as a Nord. Not exactly game breaker but feels like a cheat and render's water breathing spells useless.

Lol I just assumed my game was glitched. Perhaps Bethesda figures IRL you don't have a meter unless you're in scuba gear so they scratched it off the list along with important textures.

In real life you don't have a visual meter, but you are certainly aware of how much time you have left underwater from your body's demand for air. The game's air meter would be the equivalent of this. In real life you don't just wait to start drowning before realising you should probably head to the surface.... :P

Plus if you are far underwater using a breathing spell, you want a bit more warning that it has worn off...

Ah well...

I agree I am playing as a Nord and can stay underwater for ages and no drowning. Weird!

Can an argonian breath underwater all the time or is it a timed once a day power? Also I agree that in the game if there is no meter then you should get warning signs like a sound or the controller vibrating 30secs before your health starts to fade.

Mine is gone too. I just hold my breath IRL to judge how much time I have. Surprisingly, it's mostly accurate....

Same, and yes playing as a Nord I never seem to run out of oxygen. There is also the odd fact that my horse doesn't have a stamina meter ( and why does it stop galloping if you turn the camera around to view it from the side?) but that is an other issue.
