So Freakin' Fed Up with this UI...

It's a freakin' joke...

I mean my mouse "works" sorta in the menus, unlike alot of people...

Except when I click an option it apparently clicks an option above or below what I had highlighted... I mean this has happened at least 50 times already. No matter how slow I move my mouse to click something, it wants to click above or below even though it isn't highlighted.

Try using your mouse in the Perks area... You'll punch your screen.

This really crap... It's a "console port" great, you charge us 59.99 splendid. Yet you can't make the [censored] mouse work properly? Or gives a mouse oriented menu and GUI?

Also who's the freakin' genius that thought let's make the Right and Left Mouse buttons reversed in this game? You [censored] kidding me? I mean seriously who was the PC developer? He should be fired.

Also love you don't even have an actual proper inventory, no clue what's equipped half the time.

Besides all that crap, it feels like you took copied Fallout 3 in this game... I mean the freakin' interactions with objects, weights, etc is the same [censored] thing. Yet even in that game the Mouse worked better.

In all honesty this game should have been 29.99 for the PC... That's what the standard subpar "Console Port" prices are. Yet you charge 59.99 for the PC version of a console game that doesn't even work properly or is unfinished and "half assed".

To be fair, regarding the left and right mouse buttons being reversed: It was the same in Bioshock, which is where Bethesda got the idea from. Though in that game, your right hand always had a gun, and your left always had Plasmids (which were basically magic spells). But I agree, it's kinda dumb in Skyrim, unless you're going sword + shield, then it's just like Oblivion. To be honest, I was kinda worried that I'd be pressing left to block, and right to attack. So for me, this is good for sword + shield, but bad for any other combination.

I agree with most of the other things you say though.

There is a "list all bugs here" thread, I think it keeps dropping off the front page because of the new reports. I think most of your issues are there.

I also discovered that for some reason the "books" submenu in the inventory is even worse than the others, it likes to activate the one *it* wanted to highlight if you scrolled and not the item you click on.

Totally agree, it's clunky and half the time it doesn't friggin work right.

Tweaking the ini to turn off mouse thingy worked a bit, made it a bit more stable so did installing emb's unofficial patch but the user interface is total crap and I hate the inventory system it takes a lot to get used to, casting spells is hit and miss because left and right mouse clicking is just crappy as if you hit the wrong l or r for the spell you throw a punch instead.

This is the only bug I have ran into myself..but It is caused by reading a book. When you first go into the books list..the menu works as normal...but AFTER you open a book, then tab back..the selection gets lock on the last book..you have to exit out and back in to reset the menu.

I agree that navigating the perks screen is pretty bad - half the time you end up going some other direction. Not sure what's going on there.....

Also who's the freakin' genius that thought let's make the Right and Left Mouse buttons reversed in this game? You [censored] kidding me? I mean seriously who was the PC developer? He should be fired.

Honestly, I expected this. (And I think I recall threads from previous months, from people wondering/hoping if it would be like that.)

If you think about it, it's just continuing from previous interfaces - right hand is "primary", left hand is "secondary". And the left mouse button is the primary, the one your index finger rests on and triggers. (If you're equipped with sword & shield, or a two-hander, it functions exactly like in Oblivion - left click attacks, right click blocks. It's only when you've got a dual-spell or dual-weapon setup equipped that it starts to possibly feel odd.)

Totally feel your pain. I was ready to go into Skyrim thinking this is the second coming of Christ or something from all the early reviews and as soon as I get into character creation, I was becoming aggravated. The UI and inventory system is a huge bit of a let down. No way to sort by weight, value, etc? I have to use the arrow keys in the UI to first highlight something before I can use my mouse to click it? I can't just click the damn item's name anywhere on screen eh?

Yep it's pretty idiotic.

totaly agree.
Worst console port UI i have seen in many years of gaming.
Its almost like no one bothered trying to make any semblance of a working intuative PC interface.
The changes made in between morrowind and oblivion where far more intuative and easy to get used to than what we have been served up with today.
The inventory system is just plain horrible - they seem to have missed the fact that after spending months running round a game collecting junk some of us like to look at all that shiney stuff in our inventory.
honestly i`m totaly shocked that bethesda thought this UI would be usable to those of us not on Ritalin.

i just pray that theres somone out there who`s cleverer than me who can make a UI mod that makes the experience less painfull for those of us who cant take this current interface.
