Regarding Melee Combat

Hello folks,

While pondering during playing my secondary character which specialized in DW, I came with an idea, since most of you know, philosophy of the game makes 1&Shield best in melee defense, DW best in melee offense, and 2 Handed would be half of both.

In my opinion this is ridiculous because a player chose 1&Shield, after finishing his main perks, he can spend 3 extra perk in 1H perk tree, and max Dual Wielding too.This leaves 2H in awkward position, with only purposes of it being RP, or the Sweep which has no use in boss combats, only good against number of weak enemies.

So here is my idea:

1-) Give DW Blocking/Bashing (Excluding Daggers, they supposed to work with Sneak anyway)

2-) Give offhand %xx damage penalty, and even it out with 2 handed (Only Bethesda would know the correct number)

3-) Give them ability to use Sweep and with faster animations, so reach won't be a problem (They can move right into enemies right after their Sweep animations finish.)

I hear you thinking about how Blocking/Bashing with DW would work out, it's simple:

Left Click: Dual Swing(One from each weapons)

Hold Left Click: Power Attack

Right Click: Raises Left Weapon to Block

Left Click while Holding Right Click: Bash with Right weapon while Blocking with Right weapon

Important: Don't make them get Bash damage penalty because;

1-) To be more fair in their case, they can only attack with one of their weapons

2-) Their one weapon is completely free to attack while other one defends their guard

Regarding Elemental Fury/2x Enchantments:

Considering Elemental Fury is % based, it would help 2H more in terms of damage output(after the system I offered implemented), that will equal it 2x Enchantment of DW, so they can happily enchant their both weapons with 2x enchantments and not see it as design oversight.

Conclusion:

After those things are done, there will be 1 defensive and 2 offensive playstyles in melee system.

1-) One Handed and Shield for best defense

2-) Dual Wield for really fast and small hits, equal DPS to 2H

3-) 2H for really big and slow hits, equal DPS to DW

In before "Why do you care it's only SP": Every game has to be balanced, it is just balancing MP is more important.
