What should +vt_maxPPF be?

I've got it forced to 128, but I've heard different settings for different machines?

I know somehow its tied to the processor cores... but not really sure what I should set it to on this system?

+vt_maxPPF 16 for quad core

my CPU shows up as 8 cores in windows? I know thats due to hyperthreading and it's still technically quad core at heart... but would that showing up as 8 core make a difference in setting to RAGE?

No, I don't believe it would.

I believe the best bet is to use the setting +vt_maxPPF 16

i have a quad core that shows in windows as 8 cores and i had +vt_maxPPF set to 16.

i found it was slowing down at times during races but when set to 8 smooth as silk.

you might get a nice gain in performance when you set this to 8.

I've an i7 and 128 works Just Fine.

In fact, at this stage the only things in my rageconfig are:

seta image_screenshotQuality 90seta m_pitch 0.055seta m_yaw 0.055

Everything else is from the video options menu, and there are no problems at all.
