Every time i enter in a new area that requires loading, all the textures just disappear and models are filled with solid colors (similar to the textures) and light only. Horrible.
The most intriguing is that i can fix it saving, exiting the game and coming back then. Of course this isn't worthy and sometimes, at saving or loading new areas or even pressing esc to call the main menu, the game crashes.

This is the most far i got after days of fight against all the issues that was haunting me in this game. I just gave up of trying to solve texture popping (bad streaming) problems. Rageconfig.cfg don't work with me. When they not mess up even more (trying hi-end and mid-end), nothing change (trying low-end).

Anyone help me please. Where i live, 60 dollars it's a good amount of money.

Are you using the tweak where you create the folder for cache files? Try deleting that folder.

Situation is almost like mine. I also have the errors when entering a new region but restarting the game doesn't work for me. I always have to start the game in safemode to reset the settings. Load my save.
Close Rage. Start it again (normal) and adjust my settings. then i can play till the next area. Furthermore i only can quicksave/quickload. If i try a normal save the game alsways crash. If i do nothing for some
minutes (afk) the game crashes. sometimes when i change areas the game crashes (i think the crashes have something to do with the save problem. And the texture issue because id can't properly update their texture cache files.

I have the exact same issue, together with the game occasional crashing when trying to load a new zone and sometimes when I try to save.

I think Ive tried everything Ive read on the forums, clean install of different drivers, different cfg settings everything from high end to low end and the problem persists.

I just managed to fix this very issue last night. Go to your rage.exe in /steam/steamapps/common/rage and set the compatibility to Win95. Every machine is different, but this fix worked for me and I hope it will work for you.

That actually fixed it for me as well but now Ive run into something new, the game just starts lagging like crazy now and then, usually when there is alot on the screen. Which it doesnt if I got it set to Win7 (the OS Im using) but then it goes back to the texture/crash errors :/

are you starting the game with the instruction "+jobs_numthread 0" in steam?


i didn`t tried yet because i`m at work, but i`ll try again at home. Again because i already did it once trying to to solve another issue, but maybe things changed (many stuff changed on my PC last days). I had a problem with a .dll (something like binkw32.dll) and i just downloaded this dll but had another error then =/

i have the same problem, its 18/10 and the game is still not playable, no proper AMD fix no new patch, PLUS the rage fix drivers makes other games have texture problems so u basically have to play Rage and only Rage. I give up! U win Rage congratulations.

don't worry, the Battlefield 3 choppers are coming with medics to rescue us.

ok Rage have no mercy. Now misplaced textures (squares) come back and Triple Buffering are already enabled.
