Question about pure melee warrior

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 10:37 am

Hi all. i want to ask if trying to kill dragon will be more hard with a pure melee warrior. or do i have to put some point on archery so i can bring down the dragon more quick to land?

It'd be best to pick up some archery and not limit yourself so much. You might also want to invest in Storm Call shout, as that can supposedly force them to the ground.

Shouts = spells, and spells = magic. Not suitable for a pure melee warrior. :P

I think some people have said that Dragons sometimes land, even when not damaged. Damaging them critically just forces them to land, you don't have to do that for them to land. Thus, I think fighting a dragon with pure melee is entirely possible, maybe just harder.

You get Shouts that you can use.. they do not scale with magic and or require you spending any point in magic to use. and they are all on timers, meaning you cant spam them.

Can you use different shouts one after another though? Or do they all share a single timer?

but does all shouts nedd magic?
I hope there are some shout that can help a melee player cause there is no point on be a melee class without be able to use a core feature like shouts

shouts DO NOT have any magic requirements.

They don't use Magicka, no. But they're still just a form of magic really.

I guess it all depends on how strictly someone wishes to adhere to a pure warrior / no magic character.

I think you'll do really nice damage with bow and arrow if you keep your archery skill up, even without any perks in archery. Plus, from what I've seen, dragons land eventually...

The game plays I've seen have shown very little damage (if any) by bows to Dragons. Either they player was missing them comletely or bows fired when not in stealth mode just don't do a lot of damge when compared to a hit with a two-handed sword. Seems the dragon always lands eventually anyway so I think you could try dodging it's attacks and then just smack it good when it does land.

Cool, I can imagine using Unrelenting Force followed by Whirlwind Sprint to melee the knocked down enemy to death.
