Enchanting Staves confirmed!

Responding to a question about staves, a poster with the game wrote: "U can craft them, and then enchant them is all i know.."

Obviously not 100% confirmation, but I was pretty sure this would be possible. Would be silly to add in all those new item creations possibilities and leave staves completely out.

I wasn't sure I'd even get a reply

But yup, that confirms my plan to run around with http://i41.tinypic.com/dw3slj.jpg and magical gear in place of actually having any magical skills is a-go!

Very cool pic! Looks like fun. :)

Yeah this may change my build dramatically. Next question...will augmented shock improve the damage of my sparks staff?

Edit: Looks like you are thinking shield+staff. This setup would require 0 magicka...interesting...perhaps enchant robes with armor/magic resistance buffs?

Another note: we know that staff charge level (number of charges) is dependent on corresponding magic skill. We also know that the Enchanter 5 perks make enchants "stronger" (higher magnitude). What then, does the actual enchanting skill level buy us? In alchemy, it's been shown to affect the rate of successful potion making. I doubt we'd be going back to MW in that enchants could fail again...but perhaps so? Otherwise would it subtly affect magnitude similar to one-handed...or further improve efficiency like the magic schools?

Sigh...perhaps you're right. Character planning with heresay info is frustrating...

Still, I'd imagine we could disenchant staves...and what good would a light spell be on weapons or armor?
