Possible solution for Rage problems.

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 11:38 pm

Buy Nvidia card.

That is all,

Thankyou.

And by the way, running this game without a single issue (which I've been able to do from day one on my 580 GTX) still doesn't stop the game from svckING.

Just finished my second playthrough on nightmare. Took 10 hours and I now have 100% achievements, no challenged at all. So I've derived about 20 hours of gameplay from this game. Yes it's more than most standard shooters but most standard shooters (like Cod series) are garbage too and they don't have textures that look insultingly bad.

Can't play multiplayer, wonder why, maybe because it blows and no one cares about it. So after experiencing Rage I would say it's a fairly bland and unfulfilling experience.

Just my .02 dorra.

I don't think id capitalized on this product and to me they are a dead pc game developer. Yes they popularized the genre but they didn't elevate it to greatness. That title goes to valve and at least valve haven't raised their middle finger to the community that supported them and told them to go f$%^ themselves because they want more money.

F$%^ you id, f$%^ Doom 4 and I hope Satin f$%^s you in the ass with all the fires of hell.

What problems would they be?

The only problem I had was with horizontal tearing and a quick change in the nvidia profile for Rage fixed that.

I do not experience texture pop-in with my massive 3GB of display memory.

mhh yeah i bet mommy and daddy is paying well for your pc parts...
Snuff your comment seems that your underage ( round about 16 )
Here is something for you :
be proud to have an overpriced 580/590 its ok... but also totally useless
Having a card that no game requirement in near future will exceed is fine no doubt but for me just waste of money since even a 460 will not be exeeded in a year or two.
IRage does not only runs bad on ATI no its also not running likeliquid feces on Nvidea i myself have a 560 and the game CTD′s,
the 260GTX with 2 gigs ( golden sample ) that card runs every game up to date on full details even crysis but rage is causing a ctd.
the 460 is also having ctds graphical bugs texture not getting streamed and all of a sudden your game looks like a big chess board.
Blaming the drivers is one thing to admitting that this is something requires Platinum-plated-balls.
SO yeah some are lucky some are not but blaming ATI doesnt make′s sense to me neither does your suggestion to go and buy a Nvidia card.

Mmmm no, It's called having a job a money enough to afford whatever graphics card I choose (upgraded from HD 5870 in fact).

You don't think a gtx 580 is needed for current graphical needs, ROFL!!! Your statement reeks of ignorance. I will list some current titles which slaughter most current cards: Witcher 2, Crysis 2 (full dx 11 with texture pack), Stalker and of course the original crysis still challenges even my gtx 580. So I doubt my card is useless and in my opinion, it's worth every dollar. Don't hate on other people because they like to game with smooth capped frame rates, enhanced graphical fidelity and very few slow downs during graphically intensive scenes. SLI is NOT an option for someone who has a clue because of added power/heat and of course the dreaded micro stuttering from dual gpu solutions.

Sure, those old cards can run most games with full graphical details, they just run them like ass at low frame rates, not even gonna bother linking benchmarks because I doubt you have the intellect to interpret them.

I'm 'lucky' because I build and maintain all my gaming rigs. I know all the ins and outs of my rig and it makes troubleshooting and optimization easy.

I'll repeat this once more: Rage has never crashed (not once), texture pop-in doesn't affect me and screen tearing was easily solved and was in part the fault of nvidia because of a pre configuration problem.

So sick of all the kids complaining that id can't release and optimize a stable pc game (I'll give them that one) when in fact it is the user's fault entirely.

Grow up.

Crysis 2 runs on 260 gtx on max settings no direct x11 but its runs.... D11 and high texture pack runs flawless on an 5 year old q6600 8 gigs of DDR2 ram and a nvidia 460 LOL THe witcher you got to be kidding me the original crysis doesnt challenge your card it callenges your CPU...
I build my rigs aswell and rage is working but it just ctd randonly on 2 rigs.So is it my fault NO defenitly NOT the drivers fault no since the game works sometimes for 2 hours but then just crashes no overheat no nothing.Explain that to me.
So im sick of trolls that say the game is working its not IDs fault actually its the fault of the dev′s since it wasnt tested enough plain and simple+ Why do you even bother trolling around the game is working for you if you so mature as you say ( this section is clearly stated as pc issues not game working for me 580GTX section)
It may work for you but take a look into PC issue′s how many posts do you see ? how many game sites report the same issues with Nvidia and ATI and not only folks with a 4 year old rig no even folks with high end setups.
And i doubt that its the users fault to have certain programs installed were the game itself has compability issues thats not a users fault its also a fault of amature testers.
Grow up yeah i will try that maybee in prevolution i get to the point beeing as big and strong and smart as you SIR.
PS: you want to challenge your GFX go grab a copy of GTAIV latest mega TExture packs and the Ienhancer mod settings on ultra then you can say your gfx is in use actually

I think you're suffering from lack of blood flow to the brain or something there bro,

Seriously, go to the doctor and get it checked. Your brain isn't able to intake information, process it and then form some kind of logical output.

A 460 does not run crysis 2 maxed with dx 11 and texture pack flawlessly you foolish little child. Probably at 760p, woopdy doo! Smooth gameplay for me is 40 fps at least with little to no variation, your standards for gamin are quite low it would seem.

The witcher 2 slaughtered my HD 5870 and it also challenges my GTX 580.

And crysis is still an extremely gpu dependent title, red faction guerrilla/armageddon is a better example of a cpu dependent game.

yes, genius: Paying again because of 01 game. I have a hi-end rig and it handle awesome in every other application. A bad coded game is not my gear's fault.

Well game runs perfectly for me so clearly it isn't the gear at fault. Just your cruddy pc bra. And don't bother quoting your so called 'uber' system specs. Your hardware may be decent but a [censored] monkey is operating that hardware, get my drift?

Bra...??? you should get one size a cups.Every comment you made so far just proves how much you have in common with a DA thats suffering from ADS.
I wonder if your still a V i bet so... btw to your suggestion topic possible fix solution rage or whatever the title was little troll...where you said buy a gtx580
here is a topic for you:

quote name='The1stCAVVET' timestamp='1318963024' post='18864822']
I was able to play this game on my system without issues. I was able to build a cfg file that enhanced the experience and was able to eek out some more of the high textures and views. I tore my rig down, rebuilt it in a new case (long story, been building Frank for 8+ months), loaded a new OS on a new LSi dedicated RAID card. I loaded all new drivers, patches, updates, etc to Windows 7 Ultimate - including the Nvidia 285.38 BETA Driver as suggested.

I get in game and could not play 5 minutes without the screens going black. Sometimes it would BSOD - sometimes it would just put all screens black but I could still hear the sounds, sometimes it would do both if I sat and listened to the sounds long enough it would BSOD. The bad thing is each time I had to power off the PC by holding the power button, then restart again before I could get back to desktop.

I then searched and found a CFG file some guy posted as "the fix" for high end PC's (//HD Config v2.0 By FusedCore) - which when used I was able to play the game without issue for basically as long as I wanted to. The problem is his "fix" svcked and the visuals were horrible. I then went in and started tweaking his CFG file to meet more of my sytstem specifications such as video RAM I pushed up to note that I am using the GTX 580 3GB versions, so I increased the seta com_videoRam to 3072, and so on. Then I fired up the game - it crashed very quickly.

So I took out the cfg file all the way, figured I would try it without a cfg file at all - same issue, within 5 minutes of playing I got black screens and then BSOD. Most of the time it was a black screen, but some times it was a BSOD that showed as a memory leak, or an OS system process that ended unexpectedly or was lost or something, and the list goes on with weird reasons for the crash, all with the same result - Black screens and/or BSOD. Most of the time it was a black screen.

This is not a post to "show my rig" but in the interest of the fact this is a high end rig capable of tearing up just about anything out there, and in the spirit of asking for help, I must show what "Frank" is made of and why I am confused to why I am having these issues and possibly my hardware could be playing a part in this issue, so I feel compelled to post his pedegree.

His YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5u0x9chfoo

Basic spec's:
Screen Resolution being played at 5980x1080
Watercooled beast of a system
Three EVGA GTX 580 3GB version GPU's in 3WAY SLI Daily @ 875Hz Core clock/Benchmarks at 950MHz Core Clock
EVGA Classified 3 E770 Motherboard
Intel Core i7 990X Extreme Processor @ 4.66GHz
12GB OCZ Dominator GT DDR 3 @ 2006MHz
3x ASUS 24" Monitors

This is my current config file that I am using that has been the most stable I could get the game at this time. If anyone has any input as to what I could do to get this game more stable without loosing the visual quality it would be greatly appreciated.

Check out Yahtzee's review of this game.

No one can sum up this disgustingly poor game quite like he does. I agree with every word.
