mhh yeah i bet mommy and daddy is paying well for your pc parts...
Snuff your comment seems that your underage ( round about 16 )
Here is something for you :
be proud to have an overpriced 580/590 its ok... but also totally useless
Having a card that no game requirement in near future will exceed is fine no doubt but for me just waste of money since even a 460 will not be exeeded in a year or two.
IRage does not only runs bad on ATI no its also not running likeliquid feces on Nvidea i myself have a 560 and the game CTD′s,
the 260GTX with 2 gigs ( golden sample ) that card runs every game up to date on full details even crysis but rage is causing a ctd.
the 460 is also having ctds graphical bugs texture not getting streamed and all of a sudden your game looks like a big chess board.
Blaming the drivers is one thing to admitting that this is something requires Platinum-plated-balls.
SO yeah some are lucky some are not but blaming ATI doesnt make′s sense to me neither does your suggestion to go and buy a Nvidia card.
Mmmm no, It's called having a job a money enough to afford whatever graphics card I choose (upgraded from HD 5870 in fact).
You don't think a gtx 580 is needed for current graphical needs, ROFL!!! Your statement reeks of ignorance. I will list some current titles which slaughter most current cards: Witcher 2, Crysis 2 (full dx 11 with texture pack), Stalker and of course the original crysis still challenges even my gtx 580. So I doubt my card is useless and in my opinion, it's worth every dollar. Don't hate on other people because they like to game with smooth capped frame rates, enhanced graphical fidelity and very few slow downs during graphically intensive scenes. SLI is NOT an option for someone who has a clue because of added power/heat and of course the dreaded micro stuttering from dual gpu solutions.
Sure, those old cards can run most games with full graphical details, they just run them like ass at low frame rates, not even gonna bother linking benchmarks because I doubt you have the intellect to interpret them.
I'm 'lucky' because I build and maintain all my gaming rigs. I know all the ins and outs of my rig and it makes troubleshooting and optimization easy.
I'll repeat this once more: Rage has never crashed (not once), texture pop-in doesn't affect me and screen tearing was easily solved and was in part the fault of nvidia because of a pre configuration problem.
So sick of all the kids complaining that id can't release and optimize a stable pc game (I'll give them that one) when in fact it is the user's fault entirely.
Grow up.
