mutiple lanes r moving down to up repeatedly like an old tv

and when i tuned on the vsync it made fps drop sometimes (cant see by fraps just feeling)

i always tuned off vsync in fps games cuz its making input lag. screen tearing is endurable for input lag but i have never seen before like this

im using HD5850. any geforce ppls have this problem? if not i gonna geforce ati is svck

The screen tearing is so aggressive because the framerate is so high :P

If the game drops below 60fps without vsync you will have screen tearing.
If the game drops below 60fps with vsync the game will automatically drop to 30fps to compensate.
Smart Mode Vsync if supported by your graphics hardware/software will maintain vsync while the game at or above 60fps and offer screen tearing when it drops below instead of the 30fps.
- This is a good option if you only experience fps below 60 occasionally.

If you have screen tearing all the time you can try adjusting the graphics options with a custom config file or the in game settings in order to increase frame rate.

I am also pretty anol about input lag, I have been using vsync on RAGE and strangely enough, this is the only game I've played that I don't notice any at all. Its the best of both worlds, the smooth, clean appearance of synchronized frames and no input lag whatsoever. So I know its possible to have both. You either must lower settings like anisotropic filter or anti aliasing or just wait for further performance improvements from AMD drivers before you can utilize it. But once you get to that point, you'll love it!
