Hi 2 all

Been a long time player of the Elderscrolls so I was more than happy to start with Skyrim

I've got about 50 or so hours in the game and visited most cities, picking up quest alon the way. Apart from the occasional glitch with a character flying skyhigh, all went well, until:

I enecountere\d two point in the game where it just freezes, one during the main quest.

1. When entering the inn in Riverwood, the game freezes when I talk to anyone in there

2. A REAL BUMMER! The game freezes when Farengar and Illreth walk me to the Jarl after the dragonsighting. The Jarl says: "I've got a reward for you from my personal armory".....and it freezes. No item, just gamefreeze (sniff sniff)

I've tried it using different savefiles and by completing some other quests first. But it keeps occuring. At bethesda they said to do a full install of the game and otherwise buy a new disk. Although my disc look spotless (i've been in the gamesindustry myself and have always treated my discs with respect) I still went out to buy a second copy of the game.

Both after the full install and with the new gamedisc the freeze still occurs.

My questions thus are:

- Is there any way to work around this or would it help to postpone this quest?

- If this problem can only be solved through patching, do I have to start a whole new game aftyer this patch or could I pick up where I now got stuck?
