Anyone got any idea how to fix this?

(well that was the important bit for me at least, the rest is a /rant, albeit a carefully worded one with a serious note)
Either way I guess I'll be taking the game back and never touching either Bethesda of id software ever again, I mean, my [censored] friend bought a £10 'make your own game' program in 2003 and the crappy little game he made runs fine, so how card can it be to make something run on the budget this pile of **** has? Yes yes it's all very complicated and...oh wait a second so is every other WORKING game ever released. Someone needs to fire the **** who decided now's the time to release this game and replace them with a magical person that makes things work, you know, a games tester (those 2,000,000,000 people around the world who would happily check if these things work for free might be helpful).
Simply put, if I buy a kettle I expect it to boil water, if I buy a car I expect to be able to drive it and if I buy a game I expect to be able to play it.
This is from the uk government website:
"When you buy an item from a trader (eg a shop or online shop) the law says the item must be:
of satisfactory quality – last for the time you would expect it to and be free of any defects
fit for purpose – fit for the use described and any specific use you made clear to the trader
as described – match the description on packaging or what the trader told you"
'Fit for purpose' would mean being able to play a game then yes? I only posted to try and get this fixed, because I do want to play this game, but I got slight carried away...still I'll be taking this game back for a refund and not buying more id or Bethesda software in the future if this isn't fixed since I, like every other consumer, need to trust that I'm spending my money on something worthwhile, I can't do that if this is anything to go by. Anyway, if anyone can help with the loop issue it would be greatly appreciated, I really can't be bothered to take this all the way back to the shop and have to argue my way to a refund.
