Can someone explain the Marriage and Companion system?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 11:12 am

All I heard was a brief mention that you can now get married in Skyrim--interesting. I'd thought I was done with the questions but now I'm back asking more :P

Is same-six marriage in the game?

Can you marry more than one person, i.e. a male AND a female?

You can surely have companions in this game, but any mention as to how many? Can your spouse follow you around and fight dragons with you? Do they live in the same home as you buy? Can you trade items with your spouse or whatever companions that follow you around? Surely there's some way to give someone a weapon or something...right?

Thanks. 1 more day.

Same six marriage is in. Don't know if you can marry multiple people. You can have one companion at a time. I heard that there were at least a hundred people who could be your companion(rumor only at this point). I'm not sure how true that was however. Yes your spouse can follow you and fight stuff with you. They can live in your house, or you can live in their house(or so I've heard). Yes you can trade items with them.(either companion or spouse)

Same six marriage is in, your spouse can cook for you or give you money if they work. They cab follow you but don't know about giving them stuff. There are many types of companions including hirelings (mercenaries that you pay), housecarls that you get if you become the Thane of a hold, Spouse, animals, and quest related companions. When you get married you can move in to your spouse's house or they can move to yours. Dunno if you can marry more than 1 but they can cheat on you.

Can multiple companions (of any type) follow you simultaneously?

Or is it one follower at a time?

I figure the horse might not count towards the companion limit. If the companion has a horse, that might also come along. Now that may not be what everyone's looking for in a companion, but it makes the entourage physically larger.
